  1. It will in fact be black and dark grey exterior lol;)
  2. yeah it feels like a completely different place now, nice and bright and airy and heaps more open, looking forward to bolting up all the doors and hopefully having bathroom and toilet all bolted up tomorrow then move in:D Yeah realistically i reckon i have added a fair chunk of value to it... however I will just enjoy living in it for a while then figure out what the next plan is/probably be like the jawa and do nothing with it for several years lol
  3. You want to come reclad it? Seems all good to be honest/I have no issue with the hardiplank/ I do have a problem with the green. Edit: Besides it isn't like I'm staying there forever, very much a stepping stone... need somewhere with much more shed space/closer to town for it to be anywhere near the perfect place but that can happen in a few years/eventually.
  4. Am looking second hand, trying to find something modernish that isn't super expensive (up to ~ $200ish max)... there are a few ok ones on TM just keeping an eye on them and waiting what remaining trades charge me so I know where I'm at. But let me know what you have and if/when it might be available:) Yeah, I am hoping it survives, I really like them... Fingers crossed but it is looking like it will live House is a couple streets back from the top of universal drive. Jebus! Wasn't quite that bad thank fuck... although bad enough lol... nice and clean and smell free now:) Ceiling mirror had to be cut due to budget constraints... No re pics of Ketz... you weirdo:p and maybe regards the cabinet... want the whole cabinet or just the glass? I think the cabinet is at my old man's but I suspect the glass went in the bin... let me know if you actually want it and I will check.
  5. now I need to see if there is any budget left (couple of people still to pay) for a fridge/washing machine/TV... in that order lol
  6. I was tempted to get her to include one for nostalgic value... then I remembered they were fucking hideous lol. Has been hard going but will be a month tomorrow which isn't bad going for a full revamp where most of the grunt work was done by me and my folks... and the odd OSGC tradie:D
  7. Thankfully not, everything smells fresh and clean and beautiful thanks to Clean, sand, clean, undercoat, topcoat, topcoat lol binning old carpet and curtains helped too:D
  8. Folks found an abandoned tree on the side of the road... dumped. they felt sorry for it, and I love cherry blossoms so has pride of place in the front yard... fingers crossed that spring will find it alive Carpet and lino going down: (cheap) couch installed: Electricals/Lights/stuff going in Also, blinds and curtains are now in and shower installed... Mr808 is due to connect all the bathroom stuff and HWC this weekend and we should have a fully functioning Death Star... fingers crossed Pics to come
  9. Test fit shower tray (where the cupboard was) All pipes need to be re-run/moved, My who is that handsome pipe handler? I may not have warned him about pics lol rest of the bathroom... in boxes... in the second bedroom lol Holes filled, Gib up, plastering happening: Some stuff getting painted/carpet up/making a mess/tidying up Start on the kitchen, just tidy/paint/new handles etc
  10. I know right... she masked them up awesome with pictures and then smoked like a locomotive... effect is awesome/can even see the outline of the strings they were hung by... #Icky
  11. yup, was fucking repulsive... probably the only reason I could afford to buy it... mind you total renovation is going to be around 10k so whole deal under 3hundy is pretty legit... despite the stupid amount of work lol. You can come see it when done, after this weekend should be all up and running more or less Haha no such luck... there were SOOOOOO MANY!!! terrifying!
  12. So, first job was to remove this stupid cupboard which took up half the bathroom... and who needs a cupboard in the lounge anyway?! Door (in lounge) Back/cupboard bit (in (really ugly) Bathroom) best rip all that ugly/useless bathroom crap out: And while I'm tearing shit out how about the stupid cabinet thing in the kitchen... and maybe the toilet too... oh and all the floor coverings Before: After: Before: After: General Mayhem:
  13. Figured I would chuck a few pics/bit of info up for the 3 peeps on here who may give any fucks lol Took posession on the 19th April and have nearly done renovatin' the interior... which is good as I am pretty much out of cash Anyway: Original Pics from the Trademe/LJHooker ad: So much yuck, 10 years of nicotine on the walls/carpet/everywhere. Carpet: Yuck. One million horses and wishing wells... in short typical 85 year old lady house that smelt evil and everything was yellow/brown and not in a good way... Oh, some pics from when I took possession... couple less horses: Plan. Strip errthing, paint errrrrthing. replace carpet, rip out and replace bathroom. new lights, lino, toilet etc etc...
  14. sorry SP, I'm with Ned$pec on this one... caliburrito is average at best
  15. "that snap" needs to be next OS tee to be honest
  16. That makes far more sense... I should learn to read (no idea why I thought/assumed it was an EX) lol *Goes back to work/thinks about fixing Lada* haha
  17. It shouldn't feel too slow with a 63 in there... EX isn't too much heavier than an LB is it? My LB with 4G63 felt pretty damned peppy... Not that turb/starion/Evo etc isn't a smashing idea... just odd that it feels slow as is.
  18. Reassembled and took it for a spin today, goes just fine... still a 250 so moderately underwhelming and it needs a good tune up by someone with some ability in that area but overall, bloody good old girl. Looks like re-vin won't cost a fortune which is nice then I can move it along, they seem to fetch fairly good money which would be lovely... No flips were attempted, nor were barrel rolls
  19. Well oh my fucking fuck... spent the day working on this thing. It is actually in surprisingly good shape... So pretty much did this: Drained fuel and oil, replaced both + brake fluid which had gone rather jellyish... Pulled the carbs apart and as suspected found them full of shit, no holes in jets, just shit... gave errthing a clean up and mother of fuck... IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Runs good, idles, revs and everything... this is kind of a miracle for me, took a thing which refused flat out to go and made it go. Tomorrow = Pick up diff for lada then bolt all the fairings and whatnot back on and take for a hoon... Old man can't wait lol
  20. haha, wouldn't surprise me... my dad got all fizzing at the bung (it's in his garage currently) with the info he managed to google 190kph @SEVENTEENTHOUSANDRPMS lol, cute dad is cute... he can't wait to get it going so he can take it for a burn
  21. I know, that's why I'm not looking forward to riding it haha... it was such a pleasant place to sit even without it going haha. Will see how it goes, worst case I can always keep it/sell the scooter instead/worry about it later. Will let you know how progress goes/keep an eye out here and you will notice if I start getting sick of it haha
  22. Ok, as you spammers will know I picked up this little thing essentially by accident... Guy I used to work with bought it off a mate for a bottle of bourbs... it then sat in the work carpark for a couple of years due to him not having anywhere to work on it... everyone was getting sick of it being there. I saw it months ago for about 5 minutes and offered him a hundy to take it off his hands, he accepted eventually. Truth be told I didn't even know what it was when I made the offer other than it looked moderately complete. Turns out it is a 198? (87/89 or so) Yamaha FZR250 Genesis with 8500kms on the clock, super tidy and complete. Only issue is a crack in the left hand side fairing that is easily enough fixed. Otherwise mint including factory tools etc. only downside is it is dereg but has a vin plate etc so shouldn't be too much of an issue to rectify that situation. Essentially it has been parked for the last 13 years, so I wiped off the dust and this appeared: Plan at this stage is just drop all the fluids, top up, throw a battery at it and see how it runs, looks like all is ok but we shall see. Then re-vin ride/sell(assuming I don't fall in love haha)
  23. So after months of faffing about I finally got her done... and took her on her maiden voyage. All was going swimmingly, well... moderately swimmingly anyhow... I choose to ignore horrendously rich tune (2smoke anyone?) and the fact that she wouldn't run sans choke... but all in all progress was dandy, up hills, down dales, through holes, over stumps... stupendous, look at that, TWO ladas functional on ONE day!!! For approximately 23 minutes... after that a horrendous knocking noise surfaced... well, a knocking, grinding, shuddering "I'm not really happy about movement anymore" noise :/ Turns out quite a few bits of the driveline decided to stop being pals... this lead to some "unpleasantness" such as: Which lead to this: and then this: Thanks to the bunch of good bastards we were wheeling with who towed/gave rides/parts/opened gates/leant trailers and generally saved my bacon I managed to get her home safe and sound on a trailer then deal with grindingclunkingbangingdoonkdoonkscreeeetch type noises till I managed to manhandle the b*tch into the driveway at home... ... where I will attempt repairs faster than the previous lot... aka less than a year or so
  24. agree, haven't looked too far back but the wellside didn't look particularly knackered? Put it back on pronto!
