  1. well yeh i guess you could say that; although i've owned the escort longer, took it off the road about 5 years ago to do panel/paint, but got distracted by the 7 along the way so it'l be making way to continue the escort once i've got it going perfect and had my fun with it
  2. yeh lots of them are rusty as, or full of bog, mine aint perfect, photos are always decieving but the paint is original, so i know the little imperfections here and there .... its got a tiny patch of rust (smaller than 5c piece) near the petrol flap, but thats about it, and it hasnt grown over the 2 years that i've owned the car which is good ... i cant keep a car standard aye, i like buying them when they're standy, but have to modify it, just the way i am and as for selling the rx to finance the escort ... well thats true, but i wonder whats gonna be powering the escort
  3. still got the standy alloys, just sitting in the garage in the corner ... yeh i think i prefer the series 2-3 because of the bumpers and the front guards, they look more sleek if you know what i mean, but the series 1 is what started it all, and i found this one when i wasnt really looking for another car, and couldnt say no will probably sell it within the nxt year or so (once i've got it running right) and put the money towards my escort project; this is what it looked like about 6 odd years ago
  4. haha, wat a smart arse aye well i got it from napier about 2 years ago, like this, with the towbar, havent been bothered taking it off, i dont mind it actually, saves my rear bumper if someone bumps into me i guess stock as a rock, but the standy 12a was pretty smoky, so lowered it, put mags on it, raced it at meremere, then sold the 12a, and found another wrecked rx7 with a decent 13b bridgeport in it, and have put that in ... and current looks like this ...
  5. *update* have gotten rid of the standard 12a (smokey as lol) and now have a 13B bridgeport in there, a few teething problems, need new radiator, fuel pump, and carb is stuffed, so was running like a sack, but lack of money at the mo means it'l probly be nxt summer when its going again

    bumpstops

you 'legally' cant, but if you smooth them off so it looks nice n tidy, then really no one is going to know, just check that your car can clear the extra suspension travel, ie; your diff might hit the floor etc.
  7. DAMN! that cars a beast! huge ass!!!! looks good tho, will be seeing it in whanga!!!!
  8. just a question, why would you want to put reverse lights on a car that didnt come with them? is it a wof requirement now?
  9. cheers mate, will look into that, im in the (long) process of doing up a mk2 estate, owned it for about 6 years now and has been off the road for about 4 years now need some time and money for it
  10. you had any luck finding guards yet? i have a mk2 wagon (same guards) and it took me ages just to find 1 guard, as they are different to sedan guards. no place had them, you found anywhere?
  11. hey guys, havent posted up any pix of my rx7 yet, so here's one, will post up more later on, and some of my escort:
  12. snells in penrose is good $400 +gst for a set of 4 coils custom made up to however low you want, you may have to take in your standard springs though ... and if your car has leave's at the back, take them to snells too, and they can flatten them out for ya, and even put an extra leaf in to stiffen them up a bit get some brand new shocks, then get them shortened, and you should have captive springs, making WOF's a breeze .

if your lowering your escort, get some new shocks, gas munro's or gabriels are a good base model brand, & get them shortened. auto lign in mt wellington will do all this for you. costs a bit, but at least its piece of mind come wof time and no hassles from coppers. and at least with new shocks you know your car will handle a bit better. i just spend almost $2000 on the suspension of my series one rx7, all new bushes tie rods, etc. shocks and springs, and thats me fitting it all, would hate to think how much it'd be + labour.
