  1. have ya tried the http://www.lancerregister.com/?? They got some good stuff on there. There have been a number of ppl doing the vr4/evo motor transplant into there EXs
  2. its always the little things that trip us up aye lowlancer. All us mitsi guys are morons so MEH
  3. dont know about the gearbox. They are the older ones, but they look the same so should work.If it dont then just use the cable box out of a sigma.Cheap as shit and sooooooo commen. Im sure there there is a manifold that fits to the vr4 thats off a RWD motor.Ive seen it b4.Might look into that alittle fearther and find out.Makes things easier.Just a bolt on thing. If you use the km132 box (also known as a d50 i think) from the na sigma then you can use the standard lancer drive shaft. All the 4sp,50sp lancer boxes and the sigma 5sp boxes are all the exact same length.Im not 100% sure about the turbo boxes tho, but they are probbaly the same also Good luck with the car man
  4. Im not 100% sure on what gearboxes you can use. i say if your gonna use the vrb block then just get one and try some gear boxes out.Sounds like the l200 box and the 4d52 gearbox mount up, im not ure about the rest. The boxes are cheap as chips so meh, might just have to try afew. Not 2 difficult with the VR4 motor, its just the water piping and the cam senser will foul with the firewall, also need to cut and weld up the intake mani to get the throttle body facing the right way.No biggy there, can also use the old starion 4g63bt exhorst manifold too to get it all facing the right way. Can bolt the l200 diffs into the moleste (so ive been told) so i say get the 2.6 LSD one, should hold up for a while at least Good luck
  5. yeah the GSR ones are bolt in. Turbo sigma and starion ones are pretty much just a bolt in too, just gotta change the bottom ball joint knuckle thing whatever its called as the lancer are 3 bolt and the sigma and starion have a 2 bolt one, but thats easy
  6. GSR GT race spec struts and 12" ventelated rotors. Heavy duty 25mm sway bar, uprated springs, bla blah blah etc etc Somtimes they are abit stiff, but when thr twisty stufdf comes it reminds me why they are so good
  7. yeah.Problam is that the standard motor hates having an intercooler. If you upgrade the turbo or whatever its alot better. But in standard for they lose alot of responce and getting even MORE laggy.
  8. also he running a water to air intercooler as well. Not air. i think its a good idea.I mean if it dousnt work then oh well, but it should keep the responce up and less lag. Why do you think they never put any front mount on them standard!!?
  9. Yeah, iv been told the evo zero motor is the best to use.Not sure why but meh
  10. yeah but im sure the cordia aint the same. i rememebr looking into this about a year back and gave up trying to figure out
  11. As far as i see it 200hp in a 900kg RWD car = fun no matter how you put it. Wont be as fast as a vr4 or evo on the initial take off but will more that easly catch up. Im now better under breaking and around tight turns than an evo or wrx.Kicks ass..........till i get to a straight lol
  12. hmm, im not actually sure aboutt he oil squirters. I mean both the motors are perfect, depends what you are wanting it to do. If you are wanting a kick ass high power street machine the vr4 motor is bye far a better option. If you are wanting an EX lancer to be turbo, and go hard then the starion would be the go. Im not saying either is better than the other, but each of them are have there benifits/drawbacks.
  13. well you an put the vr4 rods and pistons into the starion block.Wella you have a vr4 block, but you are able to bolt it up to alot more gearboxes. VR4 is the way to go if you want big power for sure.Just all depends. You can get a starion 4g63bt to be about 200hp and have VERY good reliability, but as have seid once you start getting over the 250hp mark they start to complain alittle. Its starting to ge alittle hard to find good condition vr4 mtors now too. Ive been told the best engine is the engine from the vr4 evo zero for a ex lancer conversion. Not sute why but have been told bye a number off ppl
  14. Have now fitted the GSR struts and ventilated brakes. Handles VERY well. Has dropped the front about another inch. May have also found a ex2000 front bumper and lip.
  15. thats very true and well and good, but if you are wanting bang for your buck then the vr4 aint gonna give ya good value. For sure its a mean ass motor and all but its gonna cost you at least 10k to put one in a lancer, then you have troubles with gearboxes blowing all the time etc. just my 5c worth anyway
  16. yeah.Would make it a hell of alot easier to wire it up and get things goin well. Then if you decide to go multipoint injection your not gonna have to replace your ecu If you can offord it it would be worth it
  17. ok imt aking that you have a 1200cc (4g11) and a 5sp gearbox. The gearbox will most likely be the starion gearbox.I think you have to cut about 2inches to fit the shifter in right, but thats no biggy. The starion box is hydro clutch tho so you will have to set up a hydro clutch setup.Either putting a peddle box from a starion, GSR sigma ot 1800GSR lancer, or running a remote hydro/cable clutch setup. You will have to change your cross member to either a 1600 lancer or starion cross member. You can use a sigma cross member but there are a few more mods involved, as this is what i have done. You will have to use the sigma, lancer 5sp or starion gearbox cross member if the old box you have int he lancer was a 4sp, if it was a 5sp it will be sweet. Apart from that it should be all sweet as. Your diff aint gonna be likeing the new power goin through it.I good upgrade int he future would be a turbo sigma or 1800gsr(if you can find one) diff. Both have a disk rear. You are also going to have to set up a serge tank as well. You might be able to get away with no serge tank, im not really sure. You will need a low pressure high volume pump, then the serge tank, then a high pressure pump feeding the engine.i have a 1800gsr fuel pump i would sell you cheap. The only other thing is to find a gsr fuel tank, as these have baffeling in them witch means you dont need the serge tank They are single point injection and are about 165hp. Good luck
  18. you sure that the 2 crank thing isnt for the balance shaft chain and stuff? Meh i dont know.I dont really see how it can be wrong if the chain is all set right and you rotate it and the chain isnt slipping or anything.Sounds kinda weird.i dont know.Ive never done anything with the chain driven mitsi motors.Just get a 4g63!!
  19. to be honast i wouldnt even bother with the vr4 head.Your better off keeping the sohc head and multipinting the injection.Matts been doing this at the moment. Its actually a real hassle to get the twin cam head on.Looks great and goes alittle better, but for all the work and hassle your better off putting the money into the multipoint and a link. Just my 5c anyway
  20. that mark thing ont he lower crank is the right mark.If the bright link is lined up wit that then its right. The manuel dosunt say anything about rotating the motor twice that i can see. It looks fine to me......
  21. Ogre

    Twin pipes

special car for a special little boy alright
  22. yeah i think i might widen my sigma rims to about 8".I think they are 6-6.5" standard. Can get 5" of dish on them without to much work
  23. it would look badass if it wasnt a gay BMW with gay BMW wheels
  24. arghh i see.Yeah i was wondering what nyou where gonna do about the terbo facing smack bang infront of the firewall. im gonna do the same conversion somtime when i get enough $$$ to get a good motor. already have the sigma box in my lancer anyway so shuld be all good.
