  1. It fully is. That man is something else. Given that accommodation wont be a problem, theres not really a limit on how big this might get. (Within reason) but since I'm not your mum, (I struggle to take care of myself most of the time) theres going to be a lot of personal responsibility/look after each other. /probably be me needing my shoulder put back in on the side of the road/trip to hospital. (Again)
  2. Big creds go to @Willdat? Who has used his local knowledge to plan the route.
  3. Inspired by the sheer joy that has been the Eastcape Escapade, and the Te Urewera Undertaking, it's been decided that the south island needs something similar. Brace yourself for the Molesworth Moped Melee! We reckon it's going to go something like this, Friday 5th March, we're setting off from the beautiful alpine resort town of Hanmer springs. And traveling the Molesworth road, taking Taylor's pass, through to Blenheim for the night. This is around 200kms. (Mostly unsealed) https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1G4yXjXAnRQ8CSi-WwTN4hghbMgk89sek&usp=sharing We'll likely do a BBQ lunch on this day, because there is literally nothing on this route. Day 2, Blenheim to Nelson. With a possible detour up the north bank of the Wairau river, and up mount Patriach Then back through to Nelson via the Maungatapu track/past the Maitai dam. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1rk2QIYvV-II3QYy6cvcHh-ygYrv_g9uq&usp=sharing Day 3, Nelson back to Hanmer, via St Arnaud, and the Rainbow road (toll road). https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1PTxU0yCmEI9Ogb2r58O_4cDfhcx-w5MM&usp=sharing We have some parties interested I driving back up vehicles with trailers. They can carry some gear. But riders are encouraged to be as self suffiecnt as possible. This post will be updated with proper maps and shit later. But I wanted to get it out there to get the fizz going. For those not familiar with the north island format, this is a ride for scooters/mopeds/small bikes. Theres no challange in attempting this on a 750cc adventure bike. More specific information will be added, as I think of it. 4. I was thinking more about scavenging your carterbrock. Lol. But I probably dont actually need it. I agree holleys are pretty simple
  5. Really need a tuning kit to get them spot on.
  6. I actually meant @Thphantum's edelbrock. Lol
  7. I hopefully wont be the last rider anymore. Never mind that I dont have a motorcycle license, and have never ridden a bike with gears further than around a DEKA car park as a kid. If in doubt, SEND IT?
  8. I bought a bike for this last night. Talk about glamping. Fly up, get picked up, bike already at the J-5 ranch. Smash out ride, fly home. What a jetsetter!
  9. Hey @f100_dreamin, I saw this and thought of you. EDIT, that's a lot of money for one, before I posted I thought it was both sides
  10. Use a 1/4-3/8, and a 3/8-1/2, and a 1/2-3/4 adapter, then send it with a 3/4 ugga-dugga gun. A result (of some kind) is almost guaranteed!
  11. Speaking of Waikerimoana, The Party is always in the kitchen.
  12. Only time I had to refuel road side last year was between tiniroto pub, and gizzy. So working in reverse, I'll need to fill up between the tiniroto pub, and lake Waikerimoana. Except I'm on a different machine/who knows?
  13. Having suffered serious injuries resulting in a permanent disability from not wearing a seat belt in a low/medium speed accident that I otherwise would have walked away from, I concur with KK's sentiments wholeheartedly. Plus a car that old is a poor handling barge, with little to no other safety features whatsoever.
  14. I dont recall if I've posted in this thread before, or what I said if I did. (Cbf rereading it) but my limited understanding is that you need to intercool the charge between the turbo and the supercharger. And the supercharger needs to be geared so that the pressure ratio is in its efficiency island. (The sweet spot on its compressor map) the blower just takes air, and compresses it/multiplies the atmospheric pressure present in its intake by whatever boost ratio its geared to. Our atmosphere is like 14.7psi. So if the boost ratio is 1.5, you'll see 1.5 times atmospheric pressure, or 7psi of "boost" but if a turbo/turbos are poking 10psi above the ambient atmospheric into the intake of the belt driven pump, then itll multiply that by 1.5. 14.7+10×1.5-14.7=22.35psi "boost" (mathematically anyway, real world figures may differ due to a number of variables) Also turbo sizing needs to be correct for your engine displacement, multiplied by the boost ratio too. So say an SR20, with a blower pushing 7psi of boost would need a turbo sized for a 3ltr engine, as the volume of air being moved is 1.5 times NA *disclaimer, the preceding might be completely incorrect, and I'm only too happy to be proved wrong by someone who knows better
  15. Wicked thanks! I think everything bar the pipe will be easy 100mm+
  16. Ground clearance, Lower than 100mm needs cert? Or do cert guys not like to do stuff under a hundy? (I should know this stuff, but I dont) does that include the zhorst too? I'm thinking I really should buy some 50mm drop spindles. But cunting around under it earlier tonight, a 145mm block of wood wouldnt quite fit under the zhorst. It's a festering cunt of a shape. Am I gonna have to fit taller tyres should I go for cert, (sooner or later i probably should) or jam a steel block between the pipe and the chassis heat her up and jack the car up on the pipe to redistribute its shape sideways? Or is a cert man gonna be a GC and say 90ish mm is all G, sick ride bro do a skid?
  17. Because modified cars love to let the smoke out, I'm going to be fitting an isolator 100%.
  18. Some charger from super shit auto. Caliber maybe? 5he mother in law bought it for me.
  19. Ha! I was totes going to suggest a 500cfm 4bbl carterBrock! They're a spreadbore, so small primaries for tootle-ing around. And big holes for when you're doorting. Plus they have a draft door on the secondaries. So even pegged wide open, the engine never gets more air than it can pull. Perfect for a small* engine like the O.P. has. (No over carburation issues) Also plus, they cant leak because the bowl is sealed. You really need to buy a tuning pack of jets and needles to set them up right Is all. The 750 on dads 418 goes whizzer. When you open the secondaries at 50mph, the car tries to change lanes.
  20. Datsun GN620 ute. (Basically like @Sparkle old one)
