Now that this is a four day odyssey, theres a bit less worry about the support crew being left three hours behind the pack.

On three separate occasions, I'd love to share this adventure with you if the stars align. Obviously we dont want it to turn into a 4wd trip that follows a small bike trip. There is sure to be quite the team from chch heading down. So bikes could be tailored no problem.  It's probably only a 3.5 hour small bike pest to the start point for any maniacs that addicted to misery.

Sr241 are a fabulous tyre. But holy lol they're soft! I reckon I'd be lucky to get 5k kms from one. (Granted the riding I do involves lots of wheel spinning trying to get up tracks that have never seen any maintenance/loads of wheel spin)

Same ride on Sunday a guy had a CBR250 on road tyres. He dropped it like 9 times in the mud. 

I was talking to a guy on a ride on Sunday who reckoned going up the rock steps on small bikes would be easier than going down them. (Hes been down them) 

I have little to add, except that quite some years ago there was an EF9(?) Civic on trademe with a 13b bridgey. It ran a fwd 5 speed from a Camry.

Slap in a lifan, and some sr241s, and send it.
