Fiddled with a bunch of needles on the scooter, still bogged down a bit before taking off so I blamed the exhaust powerband and lifted the clutch rpm, goes much better now while hiding the lack of low down power

motorbike headlights, I just got a LED headlight. Any general guides on where to aim it? I couldnt find anything specific in the bike manual or the NZTA website

I got myself a second hand IMS plastic fuel tank, but it’s clear and I want it to be black, apparently stickers and normal paint won’t stick to it. Any ideas?

I'm looking forward to @peteretepgetting sick of his then plate swapping between the WR250R and WR250X for all of one rego/one wof goodness.
man, I enjoy riding my bike every day. I'd love to try some dirt but its not usual for me so supermoto life is great.

bit of a side track, but I wonder if there is a sweet way to go in/around the whanganui national park, seems like lots of cool tracks around there. along the whanganui river, bridge to somewhere, I see there is Patea dam, although it looks one way,
Is there a map that shows forestry roads or something?

personally havent had much luck with chopping plugs, I think you need a really long straight to get some colour into the plug, but then its a total pain in the ass having to pull everything apart and destroy a plug. I have had a much better time just riding around and getting a feel of different throttle positions on the carb and referring them back to which jet/needle is affecting the power at that level. And a temperature gauge to make sure you aren't wayyyy out.
Hard to imagine you need much more than a bit of adjustment on your thing though, as nothing has been grossly modified. I would be looking at maintenence items like seals and rebuilding the carb first

Wouldnt 2 strokes plugs always be a bit on the greasy/carbony side?
definitely not, when there is good fuel/oil/air ratios, the spark plugs look like normal. 5000km old spark plugs on my scooters are dry as and have a nice colour to them

Hey @Willdat? there is a guy selling some warp9 rims on Facebook wr250r group for 900 usd, might ship to nz?
also I just painted my aluminium skid plate with rubberized paint and it made the bike a bunch quieter. Quite lush, now I need a loud exhaust

Anyone ever noticed varying wind effect on different helmets? I seem to get a heap from my current (cheap) helmet but wondering if it is something where a fancy helmet might give better results. Currently looking at getting a HJC i70

We use spraywell at work. Apparently the trick to getting a better price is to go around the back on the left hand side and find the younger dude (son). The dad charges more. Also the charge prices seem to come out their bums, they just pick a number. Good quality finish though

@UTERUS has spare beds.
I have almost no experience riding a bike with gears too. (But lots of twist and go) so this year will be a test.
Come along, and all the gun riders can laugh at us both.

Man I wish I could moderate the internet to get rid of all the rubbish 2 stroke scooter tuning info. If it’s on a forum somewhere it becomes lore, so much misinformation
