  1. Not shared this one in here as yet... Another one I had to leave behind...doh!! I have kept the wheels though, Mmm I wonder what to put them on?? Cheers...
  2. Sounds like I am going to have some fun getting this car through on more than one front in the end. Even with my card! But it will be worth doing in the long run. I just want to be able to use the car on the road when ever I like so may have to rig up some for of inertia system in there. Pain in teh arse but if its needed. Then try get the Mk1 through with no rear belts! Its going to be bad enough fitting a high level brake light...ouch! Cheers for the input all Dave...
  3. I am having to get a MS licence for the car anyway as it is very so slight modified! I only have teh 2" harness set up as pictures so sounds like I should be fine once I get sorted. DOnt see why they cant be used on the road though, much safer than inertia belts? I am also using Sparco 2000 seats so hope I dont get hassle for these as well...! What about rear belts for my Mk1 then? Is 1973 fine without them? Fingers crossed! Cheers all
  4. Two questions from me please... 1. Wanting to register my 73 RS1600 for the first time in NZ. It has no rear belts and has never had them. Not sure on the mounts as I have bever looked. But from the above coments I am hoping I dont need to fit them for compliance? 2. Whats the story with front Harness fittings? My Mk2 has only front seats and I have harness fittings in there only. Only thing is the harness set I have is about 6 years old, although brand new and never used. Can I still fit these? Cheers...
  5. That was a beast of a car that one. Its still doing the rounds of the drag strips in the Uk actually. It was just crazy fast and the sound from a N/A YB lump at 9k is amazing!
  6. I notice that Escort Cosworths always fetch good moey over here, you cant actually import them any more as they did not pass the required crash tests back in the day. Never had one of them myself, always prefered the Sierra or something different with the engine fitted. So yes, Cossie I say... Cant find a snap of my old Saphire, need to fix that I reckon! I also have a Holbay YB Engine in bits that I am keeping for a rainy day and swap into something in the future?? I love Cossies me!
  7. I had teh rar floor from a 4x4 Spahire Cosworth welded into this wago so it was running the full Saphire suspension set up, went like a dream!! I almost roght it over with me to be honest, got it just right and sold it within 2 weeks. Does anyone get Uk Fast Ford magazine over here? It was featured in the "Sleeper" edition just before I sold it. Real nice car and looked just like a factory job when it was done.
  8. Did anyone see this one I just sold... Was real nice when I was finished...gutted its gone!! Happy Days!
  9. I never wantred to leave NZ last time, it just took me until now to finally get back! I have a few spare pedal boxes, I think one for each Mk1 and 2 but am not sure. The Mk2 is bias adjustable but for cable clutch, cant recall what the Mk1 box is to be honest. Moved up to Kamo for a few months now by the way. Cheers Dave...
  10. Actually in Ruakaka just now mate, but moving up into town from Sunday. To be honest I doubt I will sell anything on as I need to keep my Mk1 and 2 on the road along with any more I may happen to accidentally buy! Cars will be here in late September as they are currently as sea on their way. Cheers...
  11. No GSt as the cars are coming for personal ownership and have been mine for years. I just cant sell them for for I think 2 years? But they are not for sale anyway. Not long now!!! Cheers...
  12. Yes, you are probably right. Or keep them for the future.
  13. Probably over in June now folks. I will have to post up a thread of the kinds of things I should bring over an dthe things I shoul dleave behind. I have heaps of spares and was going to have a big sell of before leaving. But maybe best to keep some bits?? A lot of Zakspeed kist got damaged not so long back, they had a fire and lost everyhing. But I can price them up if you like? Cheers..
  14. Fibresports XPack or Full Zakspeed? You can get both!
  15. My old girl is also coming back. Had a few runs out in the UK and still going strong! Cheers...
  16. Had the floor painted twice since I left and also had the rear inner arched streched by an inch but welded back to look standard on the outside...SWEET!! Look out Whangarei...here we come...!
  17. The Mk2 is still not on the road belive it or not!! Its been a busy few years though... Spot the difference!!
  18. How about bringing this post back up from the bottom of the sea..... I am coming back!!!
  19. Yep that was me mate! Shame I had to leave it behind eh..DOH!!
  20. I take it you mean the Mk2 here? Well the calipers cost you will no doubt know as they are pretty much off the shelf. The extra cost is in making the brakets, bells and roters and of course fitting them onto your strut of choice. No idea what they would cost here as I brought them over from the UK?? The Mk1 brakes were hand made from billet and so cost a bit more but again all done in hte uk so no idea on NZ prices mate? CheeRS Dave...
  21. You may find them copper mate.
  22. Well said my good man! Have you ever tried to expain Torque in simple terms tho, its a nightmare!!
  23. It will not be a cosworth engine no mate. They only did the RS Sierra, RS Escort and Granada 24V engines in newer cars. But they have been involved in the manufacture of some head castings on a few cars, the NZ twin cam maybe one of these? What it should have in the casting is the word "CosCast". This means that these heads had some casting work done under instruction and oversight of cosworth. They even did some heads for the 16V XE Vauxhall engine fitted to Astra and Cavalier GT models if you look close. CheeRS Dave...
  24. The BDA will be round there first for Classic Car mag, when ever they get in touch with a date!! The Mk2 will be while before it hits a track, just getting the electrics done down there for now, doing the rest myself.
  25. I mean if your old one does not have an oil pressure guage. They are not electricly operated and work from an oil line from your block to the guage. If it already had one then you are of course laughing!
