If you do any sort of off roading, you want it fucking tight.

Unfortunately you can't just run the vsd at full boost with no load, then dump the clutch (press up/down buttons) and have it be happy.
It will shut off on over current or under voltage protection
Sorry if you already know this stuff, I just don't want to see you go crazy making it work.

Two things, these may or may not be issues you need to worry about.
1) You need a lot of single phase, not only from the mcb to the hoist, but the sub main to the shed too, to keep the vsd happy.
2) It's a fair amount of work in wiring and config to get the vsd to work with the up/down buttons and mechanical limits in the hoist.
If you're doing all this yourself or have an electrical friend to help then go for it, but it's not something you'd want to pay someone to do.

I was playing with that burr today as it's hilarious how heavy it is.
You're doing a good job, it's really interesting to read about.

I would turbo the motor you have, or find a 3L or 5 L to turbo.
This is right up @Yowzer alley and he will have some insight into turbo L series diesels.

The reviews for this guy seem legit, I need to get techstream working for my jzx110.

For Questions Regarding WOFs/CERTs/NUMBER PLATEs

For an MC class truck am I right in saying you can only have four lights (two auxiliary) on main beam?
It would be nice to have a light bar on the roof for a nice wide spread of light in the bush, but also long distance spots on the bumper.
Does that just mean I can pull the relay for the lightbar at wof time and say I don't use it?
If the light is there, does it have to work?
