  1. Yo guys, Would anyone here be keen to help me do the tappets on a car this weekend. Its a mitsi mirage, about a 94. twin cam, 1600 i think? I dont know anythin about them but the tappets are noisy as hell and need doing. I know its not a very big job for someone who knows what their doing. I'll shout a box of piss. Cheers Matt
  2. haha i was gona say! is it still getting the cage done?
  3. The Starships always a classic name.
  4. haha, i dont think you can even call that thing a starlet anymore.
  5. They weren't too bad Callum, i paid about $170 for 4 flared guards for my escort, about an 85ml flare. Also got quoted around the same price for a front air dam. Cheers Matt
  6. Try these guys, Fibre Glass Auto Replacements in Gisborne 06 868 9508, they have moulds for some esky stuff so you might get lucky. Matt
  7. give these guys a ring in gisborne, they did a set for my escort and have moulds for heaps of cars. Cost me about $180 i think for all 4. Fibreglass Auto Replacements 0-6-868 9508 Cheers Matt
  8. Yep yep, i thought they probably would. hmm i think i might just flag the rear end for now.
  9. I know the VN commodores have discs on the back plus a drum for the handbrake. If you were to do the sierra disc conversion, how hard is it to take the complete drums off? i've never actually take the complete drum off my axle. Cheers Matt
  10. yea definatly, im sure i remember someone on here saying the sierra rear discs arnt very well suited for the escorts for some reason, or that could have just been the diffs. anyone know anything about this conversion? Cheers Matt
  11. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Ford/Engines-drive-trains/auction-45631208.htm Im thinking about buying this for my escort, though im not convinced it'll be as easy as the auction states. Has anyone else fitted sierra discs on the back of their esky, or know whats involved? Cheers Matt
  12. yea i heard you can just reclass it as a 2 seater. Matt
  13. the cortinas are 4 stud and the falcons and that are 5 stuf arnt they? could be a sierra? i really hav no idea...
  14. bro lowlancer, your on here talking smack all the time and i say one line and you have a fat cry. chill
  15. thats a relatively worked pinto, though its still 120hp less than the porka. mean.
  16. where did you get only one of 12 ever made from? and callum how come i dont see your ute round giz?
  17. yea it would be good to see the specs for both the cars. people only give eskys shit coz they know they kick arse.
  18. got me some noaltholane engine mounts off trademe for $50 there heaps of other bushes on there too, probably rip off tho.
  19. oh ok thats strange then, the one i had used to rub. wasnt put in by me, maybe it was just that one. Matt
  20. or just dont bother with a clutch, if you get the revs right its not to hard to get into gear without one... im sure a v8 supercar driver used to do that coz he had a bung leg or something?
  21. muhaha. probably easier to cut the whole tunnel out and make up a new one.
  22. yea if your using an auto body shell and put a manual gearbox in, as theres no clutch pedal with the auto, so when you put one in because the tunnels alot wider the pedal rubs on the carpet on the side of the tunnel. only a little bit but it was still annoying.
  23. i have a single piece drive shaft from a manual that i'll be happy to swap for a single piece from an auto if anyones keen... and about the tunnel thing, its well known that the autos have bigger tunnels so they fit 5 speeds easily, but i've driven one like this and the clutch pedel rubs on the carpet on the inside of the tunnel. just warning people who are thinking about this, coz it gets pretty annoying! cheers Matt
  24. just replace your alternator brushes and try that bro, chances are thats the problem. they're cheap as at repco, were about $8 for my escort and $14 for my vl commodore. cheers Matt
  25. yea try smackin it with a big hunk of wood, if that doesnt work sometimes you can unjam it by puttin the car in gear and rockin it back and forth. failin that its probably fucked. Matt
