  1. 1166? Can't remember >_< also getting a litre of decent elf/pennzoil brake fluid. Mad deep into corners like WTF SON! Wish I had time to do the 10" vented discs from a Cressida ay :/ Dropped car into exhaust shop this morning, get it back later. brap.
  2. Man, thats one awesome vangina. Do up some made up towing company name decals on the thing ahaha, or not : E?
  3. Hey. I went into a place here in Auckland in the Eden Terrace/Newton area who specialise in gauges especially Smiths and VDO. I'll do a drive by today and get their number if you're interested and give the guy a buzz. Looked to me the both sell and repair/make custom gauges. Cheers Dave
  4. Went to Race Brakes in Mt. Eden yesterday. Talked to John there - awesome old guy who takes time out to explain shit. Mintex don't do a stock fr brake disc pad so they will have to cut out some ones from a block of mintex material to the shape of the backing plates. Will be about $260+gst, bit pricey but worth it imo especially with the heavy beast that I have. Even decent standard pads wouldn't stand a chance at trackday D: Gonna cut a coil off the front springs for some bro-lowering. Taking car into zorst shop tomorrow, EXITING AND STUFF.
  5. Could be keen. Guy with a Corona GT-T down in TGA with a tacho dash that I wanna go steal. Mish on.
  6. Front shocks have already been shortened ay. I was hoping just getting 'lower' springs will do the trick for now. Don't want saggy soft ones though. Gonna run coilovers in the long term though.
  7. You are the man at taking car photos. lol
  8. The steering wheel is so pimp. Its like a pearl white/bone colour. The look on that guys face driving the Laurel when he went past us on Sunday was like "WTF BOE!!!?"
  9. Yeah. Getting the blocks taken out and leaves reset/add leaves in the rear next Monday. Will tell the guys at Snells Springs to have them reset to the current height of the blocks + a bit more so will come back sitting just a bit lower. Jebus/Mark reckons TRD AE86 front springs should be sweet? If not might have to do a dodge job on them for o/s nats :E Sooo much grip right now.
  10. Discuss shit about my block of butter car if you want che. http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=9993 *lol I used img tags before what an eatass :/
  11. Oh yeah, fully forgot. Grab that off you when I grab the carb too. Chur.
  12. Hey man. Howsit going? My name's Davy and yeah just got a couple of questions for ya. I am wanting to get some extractors done up for my toyota 3T motor as getting aftermarket stuff off the shelf here is pretty near impossible. I can get stuff from aussie but redline products are pretty average. Are you able to do some up 4>2>1 extractors and also do the calculation/measurements/design? Also need an adaptor plate done up for a 32/36 weber carb to fit my factory 3T intake manifold. Can you do grinding/porting work? Wouldn't mind some rangi porting on the intake ay, smooth some bits out haha. Sorry for the mega message, Cheers -Dave
  13. WORK IN PROGRESS. Picked it up from dilema off these forums just before Xmas in 2005 on the same day I sold my EX to Macarbe. They picked it up from a guy who worked for the AA who picked it up from a deceased estate auction I think. I got it with a standard motor, lowered on 13" Hotwires and a W55 gearbox (bonus ftw). OK boring story. 1983 Toyota Corona Wagon TT141 (NZ new, Thames assembly factory ftw) Specs as of Jan 2008. Motor - 3T-C, 1770cc, pushrod donk - 32/36 Weber with adapter on stock intake manifold - Port and polished head, 3 angle valve seat grind, shaved head, stock cam - Hurricane headers into 2 1/4" exhaust + sports muff - Electronic ignition, bosch coil - Stock bottom end (145,000km's), synthetic oil - Tuned to run on 98' octane Drivetrain - W55 gearbox - T series solid rear, drum rear, standard diff Suspension, Brakes and Rolling - GT Monroe gas shocks in rear with reset leaves and extra leaf added - Shortened standard struts in front with lowering springs - Recently machined front rotors, Mintex 1155 front pads, good dot 4 brake fluid - F SSR MKIII +12 Goodyear Eagle F1, R 15'x7' Ferroche +0 Dunlop FM901 Other Misc - Recaro fishnet seats on modified rails - Nardi steering wheel - MP3 headdeck and front components This was my daily driver but since I got given a work car its pretty much my project/weekend car for now. Still got a few things I want to do with it. After I achieve these things I plan to hold onto the car and enjoy driving the thing!
  14. Haha. OK sweet cheers guys. Suppose I'll try find a manifold and get the carbs separate too. How much to re-jet a pair of web/dels then? -Dave
  15. Sup. I'm thinking of purchasing some factory 40mm solex sidedraughts used on a 2T-G. Are parts readily available to rejet these things for a bigger capacity motor? Roughly how much should I expect to pay? CHEERS! -Dave
  16. Hey cuz. Long time no talk : D. Cressida looks mean! I probably should come over and get that head sometime ay : S. I got some dosh now for the motor rebuild, would your mate still be keen? I'll send you a txt soon, been sick last 2 days :/ -Dave
  17. OK. I've had varied feedback but money comes into it as well. And just a general question. Is there anything that you can do to a carb i.e. 32/36 to make it more responsive/perform better? Maybe thats too general. I thinking jets/valves etc. Hows your ute coming along : D? Cheers guys. -Dave
  18. Cheers guys. Ah yeah I forgot the 2T-G is ohc. So it would be better if I got a set of twin 40's on their own freshen them and re-jet and get a Redline 3T sidedraft inlet manifold? I'm just building a 3T for a bit of fun. Fair bit of head work (bit of porting, polishing and quite a lot shaved off) with a mild cam matched to the head work, fresh internals and electronic ignition. Would a 32/36 be an easier/cheaper option giving me similar gains to a set of twin 40's? Cheers for your help guys. Hopefully I'll get this motor underway so I can put it in the car ready for track day! -Dave
  19. A Toyota 2T inlet manifold will bolt up fine to a 3T one eh? Some factory twin solex's off a 2T for sale on TardMe which I am tempted to buy for the Rona. Also, where do I get carbs re-jetted/rebuilt etc? What bits actually get "rebuilt"? Chur. -Dave.
  20. Sorted. Ended up mixing and matching from other clutch kits. Pressure plate - TA22 Celica Clutch - 200mm TT142 (I think) Bearing - from some other Toyota Gotta get a couple of new mid-gbox mount rubber things now, bit dodge so the box and driveshaft move up and down and side to side a bit :S (noticable accelerating from low speed out of corners, tugging etc).
  21. Sweet, will try those options. A mate mechanic is helping me so I'm just going with where he gets his parts from. I bought the car with the box on so I have no idea what combo was used!
  22. Sup. I'm changing the clutch on my Corona. It's got a 3T-C with the original flywheel, some sort of clutch kit with 200mm pressure plate (not sure what its adapted from), with a W55 box. Went to repco to get a clutch kit but they couldn't recommend a suitable clutch kit. They reckoned that one for a RT40 Corona would fit cos it was a 200mm one :S Any ideas which clutch would work? Mate reckoned the kit for a GX61 would work but they didn't have any kits for that model Cressida :S Cheers.
