    Door Poppers?

Yeah, I wanted to shave the handles on my doors too. Not too sure how good it would look tho.
  2. That's looking good as man. It'll be a great sleeper, if you can get traction with those steelies
  3. Yeah, your tyres must be far too big if they rub up the front.
  4. What I've heard of people doing, is scanning them in and modifying them on photoshop. http://www.hotgemini.com/viewtopic.php?t=19063

    tina/esky carb

I thought the cortina webers were 32/36? Either way, both would go mint on your 1600. Just makes sure it's in good nick and get some tuner to jet it right. You can go to Weber Specialties on the shore to get an adaptor plate / manifold (hopefully).
  6. I'm sure repco must sell some kind of kit which would do the job.

    Compressed Springs

I know that I'm nowhere near my bumpstops, I think it's all just a mega screwed spring rate. Anyway, as I said, I've got a King's springs luperlow part number which should do the job.

    escort lowering

Yeah, i'm keen to see an escort sacked on those Peugeot 205 wheels. They're pretty mean, with all those holes and stuff.

    Compressed Springs

Yeah, this ride is pretty bouncy. I can handle it, but I want a change some time.

    escort lowering

I've thought about going down that road. Do you know what sort of prices it costs to get springs made? and how do you know what spring rate you want?

    Compressed Springs

The shocks were shortened Tokico in the back and it was bouncy as, so I'm pretty sure it was the springs. I think I have found some King's Springs which will do the trick tho, will just have to order them in sometime.
  12. Hey, I have had some stock compressed springs in my car, and although the height was perfect, it was mad bouncy and i couldn't take passengers in the back as it got to low and and wheels rubbed up in the arches. I now have put in some sports springs and it sits a tad too high. If I was to compress these, would the ride end up like it was before, all bouncy and horrible, or do you think that they would retain (more than the stock springs) the stiffness they have as sports/lowering springs? cheers Leon
  13. You know the shop, Pedders Suspension, got places everywhere. They sell there own brand springs. Aussie made I'm guessing. Eitherway, Pedders, King and Cobra will all have 1" lowering springs. You could try whiteline too..
  14. Escorta, you can get them from Repco, that's where I got mine. They also have Kings and some other brand. Although I hear that pedders 'low' will lower your car further than king's 'low'. It's all a mystery.
  15. What are cobra springs like? I have some but haven't put them in yet. Do they lower the car well, how's the ride?
  16. Note: Split into Project + Discussion from original thread Absolutley beautiful. You've got some amazing stuff in the vuild there, I'd be keen to take it out on the roads too

    1300 engine rebuild

If your changing pistons, it would prolly be good to change the rest of the easily replacable bits in your engine too, gaskets stuff. Kind of like a mini rebuild. Also, your block will have to be honed for fitting the new pistons (unlesss the engine builder is ghetto), so that's an extra cost, shouldn't be too much tho. Oh, and get a port and polish, and the weber jetted to suit and larger valves and better springs and "that cunt'll go and quick as fuck, like the cunt i sold to that fucking young fella last fucking week"
  18. Man, that must've been a bit of a shock, have the gear stick break in your hand! Good thing you got it fixed tho.

    Engine Swap

Yea, who knows what kind of performance you could get out of the 1500.. Save up and build and hard core n/a 4cyc engine, it could prolly rip a 12a anyday with the same amount of money spent on the conversion anyday (no offence to rotor heads )

    long wheel studs

That would probably have to be machined, wouldn't it? Or you might need to do a brake conversion or something. Whole idea is a bit ghetto eh...
  21. Might take a look at the spark plugs on the weekend. It's running smooth again now, so that's good. I think all the crap went right through the system, although my fuel filter is looking a bit dingy. Will replace it with the new one when I can find the hose clamp we have lying around here somewhere.
  22. Running all good again, cheers boys. got myself a new fuel filter.

    motor conversion

you should get a workshop manual, that will tell you have to remove and install an engine. So just take it out of yours and put it in the next.
  24. As topic states. Yesterday, I fully ran out of gas, comming to a stop. Figured all that out and got a full tank. She was running sweet last night, but today, oh it's another story. Backfiring like what, no power, black smoke, it's horrid. Any ideas what might have gone wrong? I just had a tune up like a month ago. cheers guys.
  25. ok, that is terrible, terrible english. Can ya please try and use grammer and stuff? It makes it was easier for people to understand your question and help you. Anyway, it sounds like you've got a bit of a dilemma on your hands. Unless you know what you're doing with the electricals on your car, I'd take it to an auto sparky and get them to have a check over it, give you some advice/quotes, etc.
