Caught up with a mate who was through the Motu rd last week, a wet winter along with logging trucks has not been good to the rd. Take spare tubes.

You can bench set them by removing the bowl and placing it upside down on a level surface then adjust the float level until the float hangs about horizontally level

The beauty of holleys is their tuneability, lots of adjustment with jet sizes, accelerator pump cams, power valves and so-on. I would start with the basics. {In the old days of leaded fuel you could just pull a spark plug and it would tell what you need to do but unfortunately we don't have that luxery anymore.} Firstly check the float levels are correct. There should be a bung in the side of the fuel bowl, If you remove this and rock the car slightly the fuel should just spill out over the edge of the bung hole. (bahahahaha he said bung hole) if not your float level is wrong. Then have a look at the idle mixture, fire the car up and set the revs slightly above idle, around 1000rpm, then wind the idle screw in slowly till you hear the engine note change, wind back out half a turn, this usually gets them pretty close. If you wind the idle screw all the way in and nothing changes it usually means you are way over jetted (too rich). Try these few basics out and see how you get on.

When we used to install holleys on v8's, first thing we did was get piece of welding rod and attach it to the choke linkage so that the choke was always wired open and unable to be closed. Correctly tuned the car should be able to be started by a couple of quick pumps on the gas then hit the key with no further accelerator, should fire straight up every time.

^this. The lsd's in my holden utes used to get a bit clunky, suck all the old oil out, replace with good lsd oil and sometimes an additive, head to nearest large empty carpark and perform slow rolling figure 8's (no smoke). Problem fixed. Have done this on around 8 lsd cars.

No concern here just decussing ideas like others in here. Hadn't seen much food talk for hicks bay or gizzy.
Sounds like a pretty sweet idea @BLIZZO about the pre payment to make things easier if it was to go like that I'd be super easy to slap money down if that was a goer to make things easier been such a small venue as such.
Like accommodation good to chat and get groups in at the one location. Rang the motor Lodge and she was like man it's a busy weekend we don't have much rooms left only two bed ones. Told her a bunch of my Silly scooter fag mates all want to stay together. Doris sounded surprised why it was so busy.
Can confirm that I will have a bbq onboard back-up support vehicle no.2, along with food transporting capabilities. we can purchase said food @ opotiki or Whakatane before journey commencement and cook/consume at will if desired.

One thing to consider when slinging ply and roofing iron under a chopper is the downdraft, it may be safer to "hang" the sheets vertically so they catch less wash from the blades, but I guess a good ground crew will know all the ins and outs of this.

So hi guys!
I have accepted that im going to be pulling my hilux motor apart,
So was wondering if anyone had a reasonable single phase air compressor they might not be using for a few weeks. Needs to be able to handle a 1/2 inch rattle guy.
I can survive without, but would actually make the job twice as quick.
Any help would be appreciated and can provide payment slash bless your family with great honor.
Thanks a plenty.

Does a slash bless involve a golden shower?

Rough and muddy. Though four weeks of spring should dry it out.
