Have pulled a couple of panels out. Two so far that don't need rust work so off to the painters tomorrow with them to get some primer on them. Dash is one and an engine compartment panel. Ideal need to pick a colour so I can paint panel at a time while I get them done.

Gave the shed a bit of a clean and a re arrange last night. Make it easier to work on the kombi and have a bit of working space. Was able to put heaps of panels for the oval up in the roof and stored the two floor pans under the oval. Got a bunch of extra fiberglass panels I'm going to try pawn off to sluggy. So much more room for activities. Owned it for a year so thought I'd better get onto now. Xmas is going to roll around pretty fast.

So we made it to beach hop earlier this year but I hadn't run it with anything so didn't drive it anywhere at beach hop and I hadn't started it in ages so didn't want to end up kinda rushing it and breaking more stuff so pushed it into the car park and made it look good at beach hop. We had people come try push it out of its car park on the main street while we weren't there cause it wasn't ment to be there was ment to be in the cruise and then park it there. They come back with a bunch of other people to try lift it away..... Like fuck that was happening. Told them I kinda had every right to be there as I wasn't going to be pushing it down the main street had paid for my place to be in the cruise and that I had put all my effort to get it going and had my sticker and pass. They said they would let it slide this time. Day went on and we ended up having a good time. Had the little kombi parked next to it as well. Anyway got it back and we had vw nats like a week later and I thought I'd try start it now I had a bit more time to fix it if it didnt go well.... Well it was 2am of the show and I was in the shop swapping out one starter motor for another starter motor cause one decided to stop. And the one I swaped it with didn't want to go either. Had another good time and caught up with a bunch of mates. It kinda sat dormant till now and my employee was giving me stick and I thought I'd do some work on it. Got a new starter motor and went to install it and ended up doing this. Starter more had screwed the part it went into and elongated the hole. So we drilled it out to a bigger diameter and made a bush for it. All in and now I have to carefully take the extra material off so the engine/adapter plate will slide into place now that the bush sticks out. Have a mate in Auckland with a cnc and a few other tools, actually he's on here as well. Going to take my adapter plate and fly wheel upto him to get him to draw them up and make some files so when his cnc is running better and he's got some practice I'll get him to make a couple of them to sell. As for that I think I'll also redo the exhaust to look a bit more stock and a few other things a bit better. Dont know when the last time I heard this thing brap.

The fact its got two bags one for each side should be able to get passed. Would want the beams x rayed and crack tested probably.

Legal? What's that word. And a cert? Mail order wofs coming my way. Just sell it to her that it's a good upgrade and the saying asking for forgiveness is easier than asking for permission. A hell of a lot other things to buy before that anyway. Scored a over head compartment for the rear of the bus the other day.

Rego acquired. Now on the hunt for a new left hand side cover. Seems to bigger than the og engine cover. Also the guys next door gave it a bit of a service got it going a hell of a lot better. Played with the carb a bit but needs some smaller jets to get it running a bit better. Also drilled a 6mm hole in the exhaust to free it up a bit and give it some more flow. Made a bunch of difference with the amount of rev it had/now has.

Sooooooo need to start thinking about this. Paint. Anyone got a colour on a bus they have liked or a picture they had saved. I'm looking at these I like this green but not full body colour. Also digging this beige/brown/clay colour.

Havnt done a thing on this but Ive been getting some welding practice in as I think I'm going to need it. Built me a welder trolley for my welder today as I was ment to be home sick and resting but yeah boss life. Now ill bring this bad boy home and get cutting and welding a suppose.

That's a good one. Still dim on the open road at night. Living a bit out of town she's pretty dark. Would like to go to a led headlight. Maybe something like this. Before I go to something like this Need to find some mirrors also. And man takes a good 6 litres of gas as well. Big tank.

funny thing going on with my lights, as i break my lights get brighter. anyone got an answer to what may be causing this? off to fill the tank today and see how many kms i get to a tank also

yea 200 odd kms a day would be pretty good. see how ima feeling on my way home. may catch a ride with @Archetype on the way home instead though
