You could just run a single turbo and make 400hp and still have an easily driveable engine. A mate races a yamaha yxz1000. They have a na 1000cc 3cyl. It has an efr6258 on it and makes 300hp easily on a completely standard engine, they are not allowed to change any internal components so is limited by that but it could easily be over 400hp.

Anyone know of a bolt on xr125 /xr150 rear shock/spring to increase weight carrying ability?
Ct185/200 might be worth a look

I've been running all my diesels at 700 constantly and hitting 950 for a few seconds and never had a problem

CRF230 was recently $8200 so the new ct125 is pretty expensive compared to the old ct110
-
$8k though by the time its on the road. Does anyone recall the price of the ct110?

it looks like a crm80 has about 11hp
for perspective thats the same as a gn125, which will propel its standardself, me, and camping gear to 100kph.
it will be lighter
gearing will limit you, so extended 100kph isnt going to be comfortable, has enough power to pop the wheel up for offroad. depends how far you want to ride to get offroad.
My xr has 28hp and struggles to maintain 100 in a head wind or up hills and makes it pretty useless as to get to most places requires going up big hills and dealing with traffic. To gear it for the Rd makes it absolutely useless offroad, would hate to be on any thing less powerful

What's everyone's thoughts?
Looking at getting something that can take me off road, but still be road going. I know sweet F all about motorbikes, and don't have licence yet, but thinking something small like this would be good for learning.
They are more of a kids bike so unless you are child size you will find it way to small and under powered.

I was watching these two XR250R that Turners just sold on the Tard with interest, apparently ex Govt bikes. DOC?
Also, I totally did not expect them to go for that much, considering one isn't even running. Like, you don't need to tell me they're dope bikes, but that seems like drug money for a broken 29 year old bike?Want to buy a Baja?

yeah I'd love to attend, but unless someone gives me dispensation, the only bike I have going is clearly outside of the rules @cletus has a DRZ that he's probably keen to get some kms on too.
Also, going down to
With regards to camping @Thphantum this is something that I have been wanting to get into for a while, there are a few MINT spots for camping off this road, you'd just want to be super discrete about it (and leave no trace of your night when you go).
Flick me a PM if ya keen to plan something outside of this! more fun if its not just me (I don't know anyone else keen to camp in random places during winter, LOL)
Edit: hmmn, I could ride the wifes farm bike. 125cc. not close to road legal though.
I'd be keen on some rides suited to bigger bikes

What are you trying to achieve by using an engine like that in a heavy car?
Most modern engines have a small bore and long stroke as it is better for emissions and will likely have unfavorable bore/stroke/rod length to be spinning them to 10k
Do you know what this engine weighs?
