I want to remove the chrome so it can be painted

Has anyone got any homebrew methods that work for stripping off chrome from rims and other steel parts? Have been quoted 120+gst ea rim by the chrome platers around the corner

Haven't they put a time limit on the learner's now?
Think labor were going to get rid of them because they are racist or something like that
-
Can you get a second hand set reset and sent over and just swap them over?

lol transportation blocks? probably it was real harsh. i just assumed that they make utes like that now so you think OH WOW A REAL 4WD while navigating the parking lot
Had it a few times when picking up cars from the dealer after they had been pd and still had teh blocks in the suspension

Drive amarock the other day. Brand new one off the lot. It's bumpy as shit, goddam that's some harsh suspension
New mitsi is way softer
Did it still have the blocks in the suspension?

So I went off the vw idea, and looking at an RA rodeo 4x4.. Surely these are still Isuzu powered so must be reliable
Big difference between an amarok and a rodeo. They are very basic, 4jh1 engine is pretty bullet proof apart from the vp44 injector pump that can give problems

Amarok built in Argentina.......
Personally I would never own one, and as an importer, I won't import them either, don't want the millstone of technical issues you get with Euro designed, spec' vehicles.
I have been impressed with the Colorado, same power/torque as Ranger without the overheating issues. Very comfortable drive in the Colorado, not bouncing all over the place like most other utes.
For value the Triton is best of the 'Jap' brands, but have lower resale later on.
Just depends on how much money you want to through away.
Dont want an Amarok as its a euro spec built in Argentina but are happy with a euro engined thailand built ute? weird

Egr coolers are common to crap out too

Get an auto if you can, they are way way better to drive than the manuals

In what road car do you need such a light engine? I cannot see anyone wanting to put a 1.2l engine in anything that weighs over 800kg

I have a fiat x1/9 that I'm wanting to repower and have looked at all sorts of small and light weight engines like various bike engines and the 3cyl vw and Ford but end up at the same conclusion is that its just easier and cheaper to grab a 2.0 turbo engine and dsg box from a golf gti and use that as its not a race car so I am not chasing every bit of weight saving and getting a gearbox that's going to work was going to cost a small fortune as well.

The factory supercharger will be way way to much of a restriction trying to make 400hp and it will grenade itself spinning it to 10k rpm.
Dont know why you want to use the oem supercharger but are willing to replace every other component in the engine to make it rev and hold together

That and they were just absolute fucking dogs - Of all the Mk2 Fabia RS in the UK, there's less than 10% still rolling around with the engine they left the factory with, and a substantial majority on their 3rd or 4th engine.
Can remap them to stop them stuffing pistons or run them on gull 98 with the ethanol, I know of one where thats all the owner has used from new and is upto 250km with no major problems

Isn't that how the TSI engines work? 1 litre triple with 170Nm of torque from 2000-3500rpm or 2 litre with 320Nm from 1500-4500rpm.
Vw made a 1.4l twin charged engine and then went back to a single turbo on the new version for better efficiency. The later ea211 is a 1.4l 4cyl that weighs 104kg complete and makes diesel like torque with 250nm @ 1500rpm
