  1. I think I pushed it a little harder than it had gone in years today as water started pissing out from under the intake manifold. Heading off to the library for a manual and going to set about finding and fixing the issue this afternoon. Anyone out there with E13/15 experience and advice?
  2. Picked it up late last night as old mate's flight was delayed in Brisbane. Seems very very solid, no rust, gearbox tight, has the jap spec engine and is Fkn rapid for what it is! Really nice ratios too, it wasn't ringing out like my hilux on the drive down to Mt Maunganui. Stopped in at the Bombay BP to rendezvous with a FSR of BBS rims for an os lurker.
  3. Chris gave me these very cal style chrome cat's eyes. chucked em on before picking up the new daily.
  4. Got some goodies in Kumeu today, had a sweeeet time to boot. Met up with Chris and Tara and the morning for the drive in, and then cruised the swap meat like an early bird looking for worms. Met up with Denham and a couple of his mates too, those bikes of his are so fucken cool. 14x7 Cheviot Tridents x 2 Nardi wheel Personal wheel Otto BK Toy 2 LPs Skate wheels Scored all the above for less than $100!
  5. Thanks guys, yes felsy they are 114 so should have a wide range of undesirable fwd offset stuff to choose from! Neil Rd Customs lowering kit? And the face, it perfectly matches the hilux, can't wait to sit them side by side!
  6. Ah yes and it already has a name, Casper courtesy of my girlfriend Kat, who will be driving it most of the time. Discussion thread here
  7. Discuss the ghostly qualities of Casper, our new mini wags. No real plans as yet, some 13s or 14s in the 5.5 or 6jj region and a bit of drop and I'm hoping that will about do it.
  8. Bought this little thing yesterday from a proper English gentleman. He even agreed to take a cash deal (<$2000) and remove it from TM where I was top bidder but auction wasn't closing until 7pm Sunday night, by which time we'd be heading back south. Picking it up Sunday afternoon in Auckland after Kumeu, when the owner returns from a trip to Singapore. 125,xxx kms! 2 NZ owners, the first one imported it at 40,xxx kms and was apparently a millionaire antique dealer who used it to putter between his shops, and the second is the above mentioned gentleman who has used it to commute daily for the last 4 years. It is a 1984 Nissan Sunny Van (2 door = VB11) with a E13S 1.3L 4 cylinder and 4 speed manual floor shift, in a front tug arrangement. Hopefully the E13S is the Jap market one which claims 75 PS. Seller's pics will have to do for now, I'll update and replace these with better photo's next week. For now the only plan is to get it on the hoist and have a look over it, new fluids and filters, and start dailying the little gem. Cam belt, water pump, CV's, and brakes have been done in the last 20,000 km according to the seller. But you best believe I've already photochop dropped it with some little alloys. Simple yet effective, the rims are some Zona mesh that were on the 'tard recently. Chur
  9. Do we have any times and locations for this early morning convoy?
  10. Keen for convoy as well if I can talk my lady into coming/finding something else to do in advance.
  11. Good call, allows people to prioritise and do what is most important to them. I will possibly be there with the hilux and mayyyybe a secret companion (little sis?)
  12. This isn't the best photo but what you see here are 4 uncut NOS teq Toyota Motor keys! Once I sort out the matching door locks and ignition barrel from the donor ute I'll be making up some nice key sets. I hope to have a regular set, spare set and a surfing key with a lanyard so I can stop hiding the bloody things in broad daylight!
  13. Here's some pics of the last couple days productivity Stopping for a bite to eat on SH2 after picking the middy up from the airport, her luggage and the car parts are all lashed to the tray. Hula girl is swinging her hips to the rhythm of my revs, made a little mexican blanket to cover the gross crack in dash, festive Gull vouchers hold it in place, Marble Sheep pin stuck in (best gig I've been to in a while, CRAZY japanese rockers), little tig cube, Jabra wireless speaker (solved the age old dilemma of where to hide the headunit, it bluetooths to the phone and has enough battery for me to drive 3 hrs to Auckland, wrench for 6 hrs, and drive back without needing a charge!) New black and grey door cards and seat back from _Estate's old ute, really good nick but now the yellow of my unpainted interior sticks outs like dogs balls. Used to have a pretty gnarly red drippy spray across the back reading "surf or die!" in jagged grossness. It was really fun driving around landlocked towns with that on the back, but since I've acquired some OS labelling I am shooting for a more friendly blissed out vibe so have a temporary cover job on it til I sort something nicer. It'll be a yellow smiley with the words "surfed out" in funky letters where his eyes are (kinda like the old KC Hilites). Once I get the design down I'm going to make up a piece of ply to cover that area of the tray and wood burn the same design onto it with a varnished or stained finish. In case you're wondering that sticker says MORE GUNS/LESS CRIME, a good hillbilly mate of mine stuck it on and I've grown to like it, even if the message can be a bit heavy sometimes (ie. right after another mass shooting in the US). But fuck that downbuzz, I'm all about the party and getting some tasty waves so I'd better get to sleep. TC Ian is going to bless us with some solid ground swell today or tomorrow, yeo!
  14. I was wondering why jericho had such an amazing setup from purchase! that link is in the bookmarks, so radical.
  15. Had a fairly successful parts run at Zebra. Got brand new side indicators, new RN40 park light lenses, crack-free black dash pad, single key matching door locks and ignition barrel and loom, good condition black/grey door cards, black/grey RN40 headrest style seat back, and both front guards in decent/repairable condition. There was so much more I would have loved to take but had neither the time nor the money for. Front disk brakes and suspension, 5 speed column shift box, wiper motor, black dash frame, black vinyl carpet etc. Pics and installs to follow. Big big thanks to estate, who in the middle of a shitty situation still made the time to help me connect with Zebra before the truck was shipped to the UAE. Thanks also to Brett from Zebra, who brought the truck out to me on a forklift from the processing yard at zebra, and let me stay on an extra hour on a friday night while I pulled parts. I'll have some spare RN interior/misc parts coming up for sale soon, PM me if you'd like a heads up.
  16. Hey Jamie any idea of numbers for wednesday? I'll be there! Was thinking of bringing a barbie on the back of the ute, what ya reckon? Late notice I know.
  17. As yours was originally the 40 model, do you have disks in the front?
  18. PS I love tridents and turbos but only since being educated by the kind folks at OS. Thank you for changing my life, I see the light now, weeping etc
  19. Fuck yes I've been waiting for that. Thanks bizzo, it's always good to see what someone else is doing with these old crumps. Do you have plans for a brake upgrade once you are RZ RZZZZing around?
  20. here's another! http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/alfa-romeo/sud/auction-679558169.htm
  21. Just nailed another vtnz wof, reg'd up and ready for the road!
  22. will commence inspection of build plate asap! i'll get back to ya tomorrow. if the ratio is unfavourable, reckon there are some options for lowering the rpm at highway speeds?
  23. fuck. i always forget. NEVER FORGET. We gonna run the January meet a bit later in the month? I don't think any of us will be in any state to drive on the 1st.
  24. I have no idea about the diff, any leads on figuring that out?
  25. Oh and also this happened... Write up on restoring the Momo Indy wood grain here. Vinyl floor mat and other interior stuff to go in soon. Looking at ordering some lights and shiz off ebay, this guy has all the bits.
