  1. lol or caravans ! 2k or if you want to call it 2pac all use hardeners, its a two part system( colour or clear plus hardener) 1k or lacquer if you want to call it is a one part, so no hardener. basically air dry. both 2k and 1k use there own thinners. enamel is different type of paint witch comes in 2k or 1k. but like bubblegoose 1k (lacquer), enamel are not the best. hope that sounds right haha!
  2. lol! the septone iv use in boots and floor pans etc the 1k satin black 4L tin. 2k enamel is not bad. painted a drift hack in it I while back still pretty glossy. still takes a while to harden. they used 2k enamel etc in the 70s on nz new cars before 2pac never come out. think theres a 2k enamel clear but not sure? iv painted engines in 2pac soild colours and it works fine, never tried enamel engine paint before.
  3. EXPORT aerosol cans haha! and there thinned out way to much to. just cheap paint man!
  4. yep and you are right I keep on for getting I do stuff at work in the booth! MS clear would be prefect at home. what brand is that 1L you got? be good to know. can be a nightmare both ways with or with out. best bet is allways do a test panel if you never done it before to see where your at. just a little bit of thinners will go a long way in clear.
  5. yep your right and bend it a little bit az well so it shaves only the run down! get any run out if you take your time
  6. clear only comes in a kit 7 L depends on what system you use, different systems have different mix ratios etc 3.1, 2.1. every painter is different but I never really use thinners in clear. with base coat colours 50 /50 with thinners so doubles or paint. a kit of clear will be sweet to do two coats, use HS clear if you want good build.
  7. you can use a razer blade to file down the run til its close to the surface, then grab a wet block with 800 wet to file down a bit more and then 2000 wet block to sand out the 800 marks. are you like clearing over a 2k colour? like a blue, red. yellow etc. if you sand the peel and get your runs out, it will be sweet to clear over 2000 grit marks and use scotch brite scuff pad to got the areas you cant get with the 2000 sand paper. but yeah don't sand throw or you will have a mess on your hands.
  8. you can put an matting base additive in 2k and clear coat if you want. it works well. most paint companies have this product. PPG have it etc. you can get the paint shop to add it to your paint, or buy it your self and have a play with it. spray some test panels first to get your satin, or matt finish you are after. only paint over 800 wet or 500 with sander. matt finish show up everything, dents, sanding marks, it sounds weird but its true!
  9. yep there is to terminals in the engine bay fuse box that you can bridge witch over comes this prob, ill have a look at my one 2moro and see what I did haha! It was 10 years ago
  10. yep I got what your saying, just running waste gate spring pressure 14 to 16 psi depends on temp, just to keep it simple. cool man ill just leave it how it is, don't want it not to open and do something nasty! cheers mate for your help!
  11. iv just pulled my waste gate of my rb20det, it was leaking so just a gasket. just wanting to know what port is best, witch I mean were you hook the vac hose in! there's a bottom port and top port. what's the difference? and what one do it use? its currently on the bottom port, that's how I hooked it up when installing it. any help cheers!
  12. hay guys iv got a rb20det with a wast spark set up on it! just wondering what a good ignition lead is to use with this set up? iv replace the leads with bosch supercheap auto ones 2 years ago but they don't seen to last that long til they give up. the engine has the norm mods t3t4 turbo, wastgate blar blar. any help wood be mint cheers
  13. bro never really thought of doing that but that's an idea for sure might do that on my ke35 cheers man! went to snells to get a price 260 for extra leafs and to reset them. mint az!
  14. sorry man didn't think that far along. for a mazda 323 rwd wagon, im in Auckland, just want to know what people have paid really so I know what to except?
  15. Hay guys just want to know if anybody knows how much it is to add an extra leaf in the rear leaf springs, if anybody knows let me know cheers chris!
  16. yeah i know what your saying, etch is a primer that sticks to matel tho. dp4000 is made for new panels and is more of a sealer, sufacer, for wet on wet jobs!
  17. be careful with dp4000 az it doznt sick to bare matel,dp40 doz and its cheaper. put any 2k sealer or primer over enamel is a no no az 2k sealers and pimers dry hard az rocks, enamel drys alot softer than 2k. so it may crazy crack over time. think ppg change the times to 2 to 3 days now before having to sand before painting!
  18. last time i got my t50 rebuilt it was 360$ inc gst for the bearings, its cheaper in the long run to rebuild the box! just because you know what has been done to it,and your not buying some other dudes heap of crap, i know 1st and 2nd are the first to shit out! if you buy another box make sure its mint, or you will be in the same boat your in now!
  19. try jack the car up check that nothing is loose, check all the rubber bush's in the leaf springs are still ok, turn the wheels and see how they feel, and see if there any noise comming from them! ke70s are pretty simple car so souldnt be to hard to find what is the prob
  20. lol yeah that to! and thats why im a car painter!
  21. yeah id get some 2000 grit sand paper wet or dry. use water and and lightly sand the over spray off then get a good cutting conpound and hand buff it up! this works better with a small buffer but your hand will do fine, just takes longer! press hard and fast when doing it by hand! never ever use 2pac thinners on any plastic trims etc, it will melt your lights, 1k thenners can melt them to so just watch it! as for windows use a shape razer blade, dont use anything else, keep using shape ones! hope this helps
  22. i had a b1600 diff that i ran behind my 4age ke35 for a while, just an open spinner. you can get the later model lsd to fit them etc, it was pretty tuff! i sine's upgranded to hilux rear, i welded on 2inch steel blocks to the housing, used the b1600 u bolt and shock plate, and used b1600 shocks. never looked back, hooks up mint and even do track days in it! i know that ke70s use the same diff housing, head, shocks etc so sould work on a dx! if you cant aford a hilux, go f series az they have good lsd options and come with disc brakes(ae86) drums(ae85) same stud patten just cut the mounts off and remake new ones for leaf sping ke70, i think the f series came out in the 80s ceilca and JAP SPEC corona azwel hope that helps
  23. kool az man thank you for that info! yeah the chank shaft was off an auto engine. had to change the bush spigot to a mannal one when i rebuilt the engine! got that spigot from nissan, even tho it look like an after market one! im replacing the clutch, and flywheel etc, and throt id better sort the leck at the same time or it wood be a wast for time! ill have to get the gaskit that seals that plate azwell. ill get a price throw work at nissan and see how a go! cheers dude!
  24. gearbox oil man! the rear seal was replace when the engine was rebuilt 2 and bit years ago, i smelt the oil and it smells like the shit gearbox oil doz lol. but i will check that in case azwell
