  1. No pics(coz cabbage), but got rear subframe under the car on the weekend, looks like I will fab up some trailing arms in tube which will angle ever so slightly further inwards and pick up on the standard Anglia rear spring forward anchor points, which is nice, it's all not that much wider either which is surprising, I'm thinking I might just split car down the middle and put a 4 inch strip all the way thru, which will allow me to fit betterer and means I don't have to box out all the guards, which I don't mind the look of, but would prefer not to. Have a nice day, Chur
  2. Got motivated tonight and went out to garage, Sat engine and trans in rough position and placed guard back on to see where shit will end up and if it is a feasable(spelling?)concept. My biggest worry was where the axles would be in relation to the centre of the wheel arch, as you can see it's only slightly offset from the centre line. I also wanted to see how long the trans was going to stick out the back, which it doesn't, will be well forward of the rear panel. Next will be to bring the rear subframe and suspension in and sit in the engine/boxes place and work out how far the hubs will hang out, and this will allow me to work out how far to box/flare guard. *** insert cheesy grin here ***
  3. There's one of these gyro whatchamacallits at in the driveway at Nicks Scrap Metal yard in masterton here, seen when driving past yesterday, looks pretty complete, Google the number and someone grab it, there's also some random old-school cars out the back, Citroen, victors, various bits and Bob's, was an auto AW11 too.....
  4. Bro re the bellhousing adapter, get yourself a bit of perspecs and a red and blue or black sharpie, put perspecs against back of block, draw an outline in one colour, marking all holes etc, then put the opposite side against the bellhousing you want to use and do the same in the other colour, transfer to ally/steel and cut out desired shape and thickness, bolt up and work out shaft lengths etc, theres various ways to do plate, milled from thick ally is best, other ways incl cutting 2 plates out of steel and gusset together, I'm a tard at explaining shit, its clear in my noggin lolz
  5. Cheers bro, last day at work tomorrow, have the old disco at work ready to tow the dolly home, will have to take a pic of it on there, will look the ducks nuts behind that. Looking forward to dailying the 8 again, won't look forward to the gas bill tho, but fuckit, the noise is WORTH IT
  6. Will keep you posted, I will get Wof'd and Rego'd first, maybe put some chequer plate on open section's of deck, and then will list on here first. I did some research when I started the build, and there was a few on the tard for sale, they all looked fugly as shite, even the one that had no Wof or Reg and rusted to buggery went for $2k, the other two went for $4 k and $4.5k, the latter had the pivoting deck on it, would be looking somewhere in that $2-4K bracket once done. Hopefully list in the next couple of weeks.
  7. 450kg each, plenty for just the front of a small-average car, was built for a small Stripped out Lazer
  8. Yep had thought about duals too, but was gonna leave me with too little room between the guards, might chuck them on the old garden trailer tho, make the most of those tip trips...... rip off bastards, that's another yarn for another day tho, smokos over lol
  9. Bastards....that'll probably happen here soon
  10. Tows like a .... dolly trailer, funnily enuf, you keep cars steering unlocked and clamp front wheels down tight to trailer, pivoting would be betterer but couldn't be fucked, just don't turn too tight or tow a truck with it
  11. Too dumb, sorry old school, had to put a pic up, I'm too much of a tard to figure it out on me ph, will delete once I sort other pics out on a host, so it doesn't take up all your space.
  12. So I lied, I do know why. I had done a welding job on a mates sisters Corolla wagon and as payment received an old Lazer sedan. I thought I would use said Lazer as a track hack until me old Anglia was up and running. The problem was at the time I only had a single garage with a skinny drive I could park mine and the wife's cars one behind the other. This meant nil room for a transportation device of standard car trailer dimensions, so I thought, why not a dolly I could stand up against a wall. Research was undertaken and the frame was welded up....then I changed jobs and moved to a much betterer home. Lazer was sold and the Anglia project was concentrated on, and the new job didn't leave much time for anything else but pottered away on it, but as I finish up with this job in 2 days the rush has been on to finish it. As I wasn't going to put the Anglia on this dolly, but on a proper trailer, I decided to carry on with the dolly and get Wof and Reg and flick off for Anglia funds. I wanted to make it as low as possible with low guards, so went with JetSki trailer wheels and tyres, 8x8.5, nice and fat. The guards available for JetSki trailers were fugly, so racked the old pea in the noggin and stuck one of the wheels on top of a 200L oil drum at work, and Lo it had virtually the right radius. I liked the idea of the guard going past the 90 degree level front and rear, to get that custom look. I think they turned out quite cool. The fiddliest bit of the build would have been running the cables in the frame and connecting up 11 lights without having a rats nest, but I managed to get it all clean and tidy and hidden away. In the next day or two I will replace the 3 missing wheel nuts I managed to push into the matrix, stick 2 reflectors on, get rego'd and Wof'd and put up for sale. Can't wait to start my car trailer. pics in a mo, once I remember how to use host sight again....damn peabrain
  13. No shit people... I've finally started the project proper now, an hour after work on Wednesday and an couple of hours on Saturday after work got a bit done, engine box and front suspension and subframe all out. Next is to get the rear suspension and subframe out, and make up the suspension/subframes pickup points jigs, then the fun begins.
  14. Set of cusco adjusties, with adjustable top hats, will be rebuilt, useable as they are but will need to sort spring rates and damping now engine to go in back, so may aswell spend the coin and get right and refurb. An even hundie...cheap-just how I like it.
  15. Donor car, radiator bent but engine fine, almost every panel bent and tailgate window smashed, not pretty, won't be able to sell much in the way of panels, oh well, full running gear for 5 hundie.... can't really complain. Will be able to fully get into the project in the next few weeks, yippee.
  16. Right...HAI, Ive been away for a while, but Ive managed to sort some shit out for my nuts project. Due to moving and being down a shared driveway has ment no internet at home In the last year or so I had a plan to stick to, and havent realy deviated from what I want to do, I still want to fit the EJ20T in the rear of the ANGRIA, I was going to go with the whole Escort front end install, even scored a whole unit for cheap, but have decided to go another way. I scored an EJ20T for free, needed rebuild but was good for mocking up. Then I got meself a new job-workshop manager, and the last 9-10 months have been 60hr weeks and any spare time spent with the kidlets. But fortunes have changed slightly in the last month, and have freed up time and money, therefore I brought myself a complete, de-rego'd WRX wagon with panel damage from Turners damaged car auctions $500, a set of Adjusty coilovers fo r$100, a twin plate clutch and lightened flywheel $200, and a whole bunch of steel $250 I have decided to (at work) remove box and engine from wagon, flip over and remove steering, suspension etc, make up a jig to pickup all the sterring and suspension mounting points, then build a chassis around this, incorporating the subaru engine and box in the back in a custom crossmember/suspension setup, and plonk the body on top. Im thinking full fibreglass flip front front end widebody panels, and the same for the rear panels, each rear guard will have the intercooler or oil coller in the front openings, perspecs windows with clear vents to feed air to engine, aswell as a low/wide scoop on roof doing the same. Want to run 15" wheels as any bigger would look funny on such a small car, will upgrade to subi STI 4 pots which im told will fit 15" wheels. I will load some pics shortly. ALSO....Just typical, I have got all the stuff I need to get hard into the project, which all turned up at the end of JAN, and am SO excited to finaly really get into it, But...I had shoulder surgery the 1st week of FEB and wont be able to actually do any spannering for about 4-6 months, which F**KIN SUCKS. So I can just sit here on my couch while on ACC and work out a step by step plan. Hopefully update again soonCHUR
  17. Hey mate, this is choice btw. If your gonna use copper tube for a coil, I have seen this done on the tube, the guy plugged one end by shoving soap/wax up its date, filled with H2o then plugged the other end in the same manner, chucked in a big freezer and as h2o froze and expanded the plugs popped out so tube didnt split, then he could bend tube around a 4" steel tube without the tube kinking, just an idea, worked well tho and cheap. Keep up the good work, might have to have a go myself...
  18. 6G72TT engine I picked up for $150 out of car and not going, told it had a bit of blow by in one cylinder, took to work and stripped down...found a bent rod and damaged piston, tis alright, bore should come up alright with a hone amd can get new piston and 2nd hand conrod for $80, not that im using that shit anymore. Coupla pics of Subie transaxle conversion stuff. Rear plate to close off rear unused part of trans. Adapter connects mainshaft of box to shaft that goes through it back to front diff, negates rear output and puts 100% of torque through to front diff. Rear engined EJ20T open wheeler.
  19. Chucked a barbie together while I was there lol, 7 burner, again best price...FFRREEEEEEE. Also the look Im going for too.
  20. Im such a retard, dont know what Im doing with pics llooooolllz. Pic of arse removed from car and me gantry i made, had to make it height adjustable as wanted to be able to have both in garage and out in drive when unloading heavy shit, but doorway pretty low. Didnt cost me a bean and slammed together after work one night.
