  1. Thanks for that. Will keep an eye on it. Not sure if Mum would appreciate me bringing home another car though haha
  2. Haha that's a good idea. Also, Already swapped that jaf badge for this

They're scary! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCYuXsKSmhc&feature=youtu.be Yes I will put sound deadening in and secure all the rattles Hopefully by next week I'll have all of the sound system in Discuss: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35012-guywithaviators-1974-austin-1300/
  4. Sounds like a plan Felixx. I don't intend on selling it
  5. I know, it's exciting! But that means I have to find a girl who's willing to get into a smoky Austin 1300 .. lol
  6. Thanks guys. Uh nope they didn't ask for it, I would've if they did. I'm all for getting extra credits

  9. Wassup Got sick of being burnt by super hot vinyl seats so bought some seat covers, pretty ugly but better than fluffy leopard print Went to pick-a-part for a geeze and found some sweet stuff An alarm out of a Lada Samara, it even works Some really nice sounding and loud horns out of an MG And this sweet PYE push button am radio out of a peugeot which will be mounted somewhere there. It even works too Twas my 16th birthday on Sunday and tomorrow I'm going for my learner license, will be mint to be able to drive my car properly! Assuming I pass the test Discuss: http://oldschool.co....74-austin-1300/
  10. Few pictures from today's meet. First one I've been to, enjoyed it. You're all gc's
  11. Yeah they're pretty cool. Need to try some other ones on first. Cheers guys. Wouldn't be able to do it with out my fathers knowledge and skills. Learning heaps as I go
  12. Went and had a look at Butlers today and tried a few of their ones on to see what they'd be like. Tried a clip on one and it wasn't ideal, the quarter light window frame kept getting in the way. We decided a guard mounted one will be best, has the most visibility, a large rectangle one that's sort of far away from the body. Need to go to other shops like you said or look on tm again
  13. Finally another post. Woohoo. Here's what's happened recently: 1. Got new tail pipe made and put on 2. Fixed rust in sill and stopped rust on top of guard with filler/paint 2. Attempted to get Wof. 3. The lights and indicators wouldn't go, they do that sometimes, so convinced the Wof guy the plug had come off while I furiously wiggled some wires and bashed the switch hoping they'd work. Which they did 3. Failed Wof on worn brake pads 4. Bought and replaced brake pads 5. Got Wof! 6. Drove (well Dad, I haven't got my license yet) to Lyttleton 7. Took photos 8. Took Dash out and fixed wiring fault/cleaned dials 9. Discussion of this long update: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35012-guywithaviators-1974-austin-1300/
  14. Will be there with my Dad. Be good to meet you guys
  15. That was me with this one Mine had started to rust in that same place in the guard, lucky I got to it quickly. It'll be a shame to see another one off the road
  16. Comments?: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35012-guywithaviators-1974-austin-1300/ Did this the other night, I'll cut it in half soon and clean up/make the back end into a seat for the garden I recently had to go to Invercargill for my Pop's funeral but while I was there Dad found a TM auction advertising 1300 parts not far from where we were. Went to go see what he had and came home with a steering wheel centre which was better than mine, some seat belt components, an engine cover which I'm missing and best of all.. Factory Twin Carbs! They came off a Woolsey 1300 Need rebuilding and cleaning up so will do that and after New Years put them on. Excited Discuss: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35012-guywithaviators-1974-austin-1300/
  17. ya had to pick the day before I can sit my license I'll get Dad to drive me though, I'm in
  18. Taking anything I can off my other car ready to cut it in half 10 points to whoever can tell me what's missing from this picture Hint, it's not seats or interior How to make your car look perfect Sorry about filling the driveway up Mum Discuss: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35012-guywithaviators-1974-austin-1300/
  19. I'm going down to Invercargill today and I know there are lots of wrecking yards with older cars there. Ill see if any of them have that style still on them. Seems like a good idea because then I don't have to put holes in the body.
  20. Have't done much on my car lately as it's part of our Christmas light display
  21. Bought this today, not really sure why, was really cheap though. There are a few good bits on it, no motor. Get it sometime this week Have been thinking about something like this potentially. With a BBQ in the boot maybe. Or just have the back end it in the garden as a seat Perhaps not as elaborate Discuss: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35012-guywithaviators-1974-austin-1300/
  22. That way of putting them is interesting, haven't seen it before
  23. Hmm yeah. I do think I'd need them as a learner. Cheers for the input guys, am on the lookout for cheap mirrors now
  24. Pretty much the same thing as k-trips but without the gauge etc
