  1. And now I'm out of materials and need to decide what I'll build rear wheel mount out of. That's proportions it'll be though could be stand up or fit a hot seat on top engine plenty of room for either.
  2. Chopped down the old quad engine plate sat everything where it looked right nice strong tacks incase I need to shift it to suit the rear wheel location everything centred though.
  3. Nothing motivates me more than the last day of time off. So smashed this together in 90 minutes and it's nowhere near as janky as my last build started off. Joined the two headtubes together with a angled cut so maximum cross section tacked with mig then tigged it together.
  4. First time editing a video forgive me.....
  5. Remember when I built that cute little stand up scooter then got carried away and turned it into a motorcycle? Well after building 5 or so other projects I didn't throw anything away so I'm recreating the fold up scooter Go Ped style to stuff in a car boot or work wagon for smoko runs. Will be stand up 5hp and have wheels capable of going over bumps without crumbling. I'm not going to bother with jackshafts etc so the engine will just go where it needs to go,
  6. Did a 100+ ks today to pick up my gn125 my son has claimed as his so we could fit some new parts to it and give it a service. Thought I'd better check the wheel bearings they were mint but one of the tyres was absolutely dry rotted on the inside and started to deform, threw the mint spare on. Tows awesome with the 80kg of shit gone from the back and weirdly doesn't fuck my cars fuel economy as bad as my old trailer that weighed 1/3 of what this does.
  7. Russian Volga/Bugatti hybrid build lots of cool fibreglass work fab and all in doesn't look shit
  8. Finally got stuck in and got last of bulkhead out. Got it registered too its maiden voyage was to the tip loaded with the bits I cut out and every scrap of shit around my property 1300kg worth gone for $55. Now needs a thorough scrub out but is ready to be loaded up with stuff and used. It's a bit nose heavy so I think I'll end up lengthening it by 30cm to help with balance and been able to get more shit in in.
  9. New race numbers and a fur racing strip between the windscreen squirters maybe.
  10. @shrike wouldn't waste the mig wire on a 3.08 ratio diff. Or risk a pink sticker.... Im old remember that shits inconvenient.
  11. Bloody stoked did 6 passes 4 pretty much back to back it didn't miss a beat and did rippa skids at drag day. I saw 160kph on the dash during a few of the skids and it jumped off the line surprisingly well mid 16 seconds pretty much all of the runs.
  12. Well last few things done boot is loaded with helmets tyres and tools heavy shit jettisoned for drag day aqua edition. Remembered it has the stock Ecu so found my spare flashed a warm tune on to it and jammed it in, trans shifts a bit more snappy wound force motor up to 100% no sludgy smooth shifts tomorrow being positive it won't break anything. I'll bring my AA card just in case.
  13. Have got some steel wheels for skids tried them on found my special wheel nuts for the VE wheels aren't compatible different taper etc. Seeing as I'm a tin ass I jumped on trademe looked for m12x1.5 wheel nuts sorting by new and cheapest and found these horrible things, Perfect for drag day but nothing else.
  14. Thought I'd give this thing half a chance of survival at drag day so gave it good going over today oil, filter steam clean and a spanner check over everything ive touched on engine....... found a missing engine mount nut and 4 loose control arm nuts. Engine bay looks like I care now.
  15. Scored a set of old Works 17's they'll hopefully fit, if not I've got some 205 60 13 tyres with white letters to fit the galvanised modgies already on it.
  16. Found a picture of it back in its day
  17. I want to try run this on a stock ECU as the old delco is quite capable and it is a little bit clunky to tune but is well supported and give reasonable results. For what im wanting it's a good starting point if I decide I want 600hp at the wheels later I'll have to go aftermarket. I just want to smoke a v8 or 2 occasionally with headroom for a max effort build later on.
  18. Drag Day is coming up fresh wof acquired so thought I should do a stock take of what I have already bought and start thinking about what I still need to turbo this nugget. Deka 850cc injectors supposedly a good starting point AEM In tank fuel pump supposedly good for 1000hp with an10 lines Pulsar 60mm wastegate have already got tube, bends and v bands for this Pulsar GTX3584RS Turbo AN Lines and fittings acquired where possible fitted Have some Greddy gauges from ages ago might be cool to use. Needs: Buick L67 long block that needs a rebuild with fucked heads, this supposedly was a good runner when I bought it clearly has been thrashed bores are scored to buggery. Do I throw rods and pistons at it and ARP studs and call it capable of whatever I can throw at it or just do a stock rebuild with new stock pistons supposedly very strong as is. Difference is like $5k in scheme of things. The transmission hasn't been forgotten about either........ home-brew upgrades I reckon spoken to a specialist parts are cheap as but should wait till nz dollar improves.
  19. Made up a strong safety chain using grade 80 i had "in stock" shackle is permanently attached with a chain connector so can't be lost. Rewiring tail lights next as some A hole stole the wiring.
  20. Laid into this thing today ripping through the bulkhead of the old fire box thanks to the rust it went really smoothly not much of a fight was put up 2/3 out before I ran out of discs. Next plan is to rip it down to the floor ive decided to to leave the stainless sides in as they add some structure to the walls then reverse hinge the rear door so it doubles as a ramp.
  21. Because this thing has lived under cover since 2012 the vinyl just came off intact in whole sheets. It has some scabs for sure but it's not terrible I've fixed worse..... I've also left worse alone too it is just a trailer. Started ripping the bulkhead out the box section is rusted away completely so 90% was done with a dust pan and brush, big stainless box to deal with next.
  22. Dragged it home from Auckland today She's pretty heavy so will start gutting all the unwanted shit out and think about tidying it up. Tows well is pretty nose heavy though rear door must weigh 80kg cos it's full off flame proofing shit.
  23. Was up in Auckland for work yesterday so spent an hour on it got tyres with air on the galvanised modgys. Cleaned the shit out of inside mostly. Hopefully will drag it home this weekend. I'm going to have to wire up the tail lights before I leave because some mongrel stole the loom from it since I started looking at it about 6 months ago. Alloy has some scabby areas so might spot sandblast those and just house paint it to a reasonable standard.
  24. 2 fresh tanks through now all the weird shit it was doing has not reappeared. Still has more crank end float then it should Meh! It drives so much nicer than the 2022 Mitsubishi ASX I daily for work and gets pretty close to same economy. I never got a chance to enjoy the new stereo I put in its bloody epic now all the new speakers have started to free up and sound crisp.
