  1. Long time no update. Have pulled the 2L pinto and type 9 out. Pulled the pinto apart as old owner had said it had oil problems with out going into details. Found the motor has had a recent Kent Fr31 cam and kent valve springs. Has had a mild clean out on the inlet ports. Looks to have done not a lot since being apart last time and no damage seen other than no oil pump drive shaft and the modified oil pick up had been hitting on the 2 middle rod ends. Lucky I had spare motors to raid. Put all back together and fingers crossed its ok otherwise its out again and full build. Painted block. About to give the inlet manifold a mild radius porting. Stripped and painted roll cage. Got rear van leafs back from being reset. Starting to come along.
  2. Ok, long time no update. Have just been badgering away at the bodywork still, getting there. Finally got some tyres on my steelies, 175 50 13 and got the ride height at which it will be made it.
  3. What size tyres on the gold wheels.
  4. Couple of pics showing direction of idea of build. Having my 30th in garage next weekend so had to make the sack look a little special
  5. Installed bolt in half cage and made up prototype seat mounts to check positioning with helmet room.
  6. Hi, I think a guy in Blenheim built it around 10 years ago. I have the ownership papers, was a South Island car until 6 ish years ago. Think it may have had the head refreshed, think I may go for a Kent Fr32. Still on the source for a dipstick and engine mounts. Think one is 50mm thick and other is 38mm thick. What does everyone else have.
  7. Just took the cam cover off, has a kent cams fr31 cam and valve springs. Bad news is cam looks like it hasnt been run in properly so will probably need binning.
  8. That VL would look cool next to my r31. Dont bogan it up like all other VLs.
  9. Am looking for a 2L pinto dipstick if anyone has one. Cheers.

  11. Have managed to source new / better bits and bobs for it whenever things pop up, got decent chrome bumpers, new tail lights and front grille, RS style front spoiler, near mint bonnet, slightly tired but cool RS 3 spoke steering wheel, factory 4 speed gearknob as I always liked the small original ones, 13 x 7 and 8 widened factory rostyles. Currently has 50mm blocks and lowering springs so will end up getting the leaves reset and probably add another leaf and make up some coilovers. Interior as advertised
  12. Getting stuck in with cutting out and welding in new steel then filler etc
  13. After trailering home and finding out what I had to get stuck in to:
  14. Drifiro's 77 mk2 escort 2L After having a mk2 as my first car and having another one since, Ive always said once I get a decent enough garage I will get another, so here we are. I bought it late last year. Non running 2L cortina pinto and sierra 5 speed but certed and reg on hold. Mostly reasonably straight and decent enough. Both front and rear valances / panels and bonnet in terrible cond, front guards previously been patched, multiple layers of cracked paint that just clogs sandpaper. I got stuck into it as soon as it hit the garage. Getting towards the stage of ready for primer. As advertised:
  15. I had a 2.6L petrol previously. Was a disgusting thirsty slow hunk of crap and spent thousands on the gearbox. Run away fast.
  16. How wide have the rostyles been banded to. Thinking about doing mine but not as much as yours. Cheers.
  17. Ive always found (on Nissan rbs anyway) as long a resonator as possible after the extractors takes a lot of crackle out, then what ever muffler further towards the rear.
