  2. yeah some of the parts aren't disc friendly.. angles and shiz.. +1 on this.. bar the smell.. yes, old school twink sniffer
  3. No twin pipes? thats half the fun... yes.. pun
  4. yeah just thought a small amount of paint would come off in the hot dip acid.. I've been using some good stuff but have been using a shit brush to apply it, to lazy to go to M10 and buy some cheapies haha.. a bit of stubborn powder coating also.
  5. Dang.. ok, maybe I'll be in later this week haha...
  6. dunno it was like 2001, from memory it was 175/50/13 to start with but I then put 14s off an integra I think.. 185/50/14
  7. Well, today I cleaned up the alternator and installed the oil filter mount.. Yesterday I went to buy some seals for the clutch slave and master but then discovered that I could buy a new loaded slave from partmaster so went ahead and bought one only to discover today that it has the wrong thread for the hose.. pffft.. so cleand up the old one, gave it a hone. Seal seemed ok so I left it.. pretty interesting stuff.. Pics.. Spot the difference.. Find it strange they changed the thread.. oh well, saved 30 bucks should put it towards a link loom..
  8. really? mine was like a go kart.. it was a T2 tho, slightly wider
  9. When you say remove the paint, is that completely? every single spec?
  10. at least if you have a letter box you can put the little red flag up for skids..
  11. Yeah, I'd only change the diff if you really had to, although an lsd is awesome.. I had to change from a bw to a 9" in my falcon as the bearings kept chewing out and it made me nervous doing hard launches.. still, the bw had a 4p lsd and showed no sign of probs

  13. 14. wouldn't a 3.08 be too low for a manual.. you'd bog off the line doing hill starts and towing loads surely..
  15. haha, cheers.. should be good, I just hope the engine has stood up to 10yrs storage better than the others I have.. It was filled with oil so fingers crossed..
  16. Cheers bro, taking a bit longer than I originally planned but I have a family on the way and my time and money are suddenly being diverted.. that and for some reason instead of just putting it back together I had to go and start doing a nice job hahaha... As for the 929 that was when I did a bare metal on it in '97'.. somehow managed to do the whole thing including buying it tyres, paint and rereg for under 2.5..
  17. fair enough bro.. was just concerned with all the skid talk haha...
  18. I take it the cam is advertised duration and not @ 50 thou?
  19. I hope I don't jinx you bro but, I wouldn't be pulling to many skids with the toyota box.. they tend not to last long with the amount of torque you'll have on tap.. IMHO, I would have gone with a th400 or 700... means you can also eat a pie whilst going sideways....
  20. Did a small amount of stuff today, finally found some sway bar links that fit, tho I had to cut them down about 50mm as they were for a falcon.. so front end is finished suspension wise. have decided now to just nickel plate most of the stuff I have as chroming polishing is pointless for half the bits.. Spent half of sat getting some parts for my MS75 which included a boot floor, all I need now is a running 4M and that could be put back on the road very easy.. new links for sway bar, you can see the length of the link bolt on the ground.. front is very stiff now The starter now makes the gearbox look plain.. typical pile of bits accumulating to be plated, just gonna chrome the water pump, p/s pump and alt pulleys as well as the alt bracket, the rest can just go back to factory nickel.. black gold and silver bling haha..
  21. Looks pretty tidy bro, a few years ago I bought a few clapped out ones and sold a couple of engines overseas.. these things haul ass for what they are, mine was doing very low 15s when I sold it.. and they have the most leg room out of any car I've ever had, and I'm 6"5
  22. Ok bro, I'll pop in and see you some time in the next couple of weeks.. what are your hours?
  23. Do you guys do some sort of prep dipping before you plate or is it solely plating
