  1. Hey guys, if you wanna do a wainui cruise then we can have a bbq at my place. I'm just near the homedale village and i have plenty of room on my street for parking and plenty of space for everyone to have a beer and bbq. Although my bbq is big we may need another one to. Just a thought. I'm more than happy to do it!
  2. fuck - me - this - is - fucking - awesome. I envy you, your car, your abilitys and the fact that, this is so, so awesome. The carbs look wicked and those wheels are so fricken sweet. Can't wait to see this thing finished man it's going to be amazing.
  3. Consider them posted! They're redeemable at any oldschool meet I attend for a beer and some bullshit. Thanks matt, it's far from finished but I do love them ms6x s Cheers man, yeah the sub setup is pretty rediculous really. Its taken up all my time recently but if your like me and havea bass addiction then there's only one cure!
  4. First hit got the win! Think it looks awesome on those wheels personally. They're very "period" i think. Nah i forgot about it untill we were around 2 hours out of auckland on the way home. Was pretty annoyed with myself. Will definately look at getting it sometime when i'm up there next. At the moment it still has the 186 in it. A conversion is on the list but i'm still unsure of what i want. Was thinking 2jzge or altezza 3sge because i want to go back to driving it everyday. Stopped at the moment since it's twice as much in fuel per week to our run about. At the moment it's just a matter of focusing on getting it the next wof. Need to get custom springs made up, finish the exhaust properly and put some new tyres on it. Probably needs a new seatbelt as well. I still absolutely love this car though. It's exactly what i wanted.
  5. For the Project Thread click below: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35007-mattts-73-crown-sedan-ms65/ To talk shit about this masterpiece of Toyota engineering Discuss here.
  6. Discuss: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35008-mattts-73-ms65-crown/ Hey So i decided i should probably finally put up a project thread on this beauty. So basically when i was younger i bought a HZ Ute. I took it down for a re-vin and the guys just laughed and said how much money you got? Basically under the paint it was just a rust pile. So i was always worried about buying another old school car. I wanted a crown for 6 years and recently finished studying to become an engineer. Thinking i can fix rust now and having some money laying around i decided screw it i'm going to get one. Criteria: Red Vinyl Interior in reasonable condition White Wof Good runner Facelift Automatic So I posted up a Wanted to buy ad on here and 2 hours later was on the phone to a guy who had an Old man special. He lives in Auckland and i live in wellington. A few phone calls and a couple of emails with some rubbish phone photos and one proffesional photo later we came to an arrangement to meet in taupo What i got: Red Vinyl Interior in reasonable-Good condition White Wof check sheet (Inner steering ball joint) Good Runner Manual Pre Facelift The Coolest Sun Visor 186 Holden Power We had an amazing trip back from Taupo in it, despite the lovely cop who gave me a ticket for no wof/rego despite the worlds best (and true) reason. Anyway I sorted the wof within a week and did a little bit of tidying then it was off to our first Oldschool club meet! It stayed that way for about a month. Then i couldn't take it anymore!! IT HAD TO GO LOW!!! A few hours later, a cutting disk and a new set of rear shocks.: Which caused this: The exhaust now hung about 40mm off the ground So i spent the next weekend with a welder, a turbo flow muffler and some 2.5" tube and bodged the hell out of it for a trip to auckland Then i slowly mucked around with a few little things and drove it daily for about 3 months. One day i was up at pick a part with a mate and i saw some mags, they were hideous but i knew they would suit the crown, having limited funds I ignored it and then 2 days later decided i had to see if they would fit....... 10 Points to the person who can guess what they originally came off.... Being a hardcore bass head from as long ago as i can remember i started to fit out the stereo unit ALOT of weekends later and i have a mostly completed stereo. It started out with a pair of rockford subs. I hit 140dB with those then they hit the max they could do so i bought some Digital Designs 512d4 subs. And about all i can add now is some sweet sweet crown porn and a stereo video for any of you fellow bass nutters... Cheers, enjoy and i will try to remember to update this as often as i can so i don't forget the shit ton of stuff i've done to it. 7. At this stage I haven't been able to get anyone to pick them up from auckland and get them to taupo so it probably won't be happening. I would prefer the mowers complete as I will be trying to make a useable mower out of all the parts but the engines are the main requirement. Will update if someone comes to the party for the first part.
  8. Right so no pics yet of anything however this is well and truly under way. I managed to win 2 full cranks victas of trademe and will have them slowly make their way down from auckland. Then at lunchtime today I stopped off at our local mower shop as I saw another victa out the front and asked him the story. Long story short I'm picking up 6 tomorrow and all the parts ill ever need aparently. Not bad for $100! What I know I'm doing: Victa full crank 160cc Mountain bike rear cluster and derailer for gearbox Home made dodgy as fuck springer forks Low, short, fast Turbo (Maybe) Pictures after the weekend.
  9. Any chance you can fit a couple of old victas in on the trip back? They'll hopefully be in taupo for collection?? Beers supplied.
  10. Awesome night guys. I'm still full from all those ribs! Epic
  11. That is exactly what I want. Ill grab them both if that's ok. I've got a db reading to do before hand at abtec but should be well over with by 7pm. Ill be rolling in the white ms65 crown so hit me up otherwise I have no idea who most of you are Steelies I need to discuss velo racers with you! Very keen to cause my self unintentional tattooage. Chur Matt.
  12. I know this is a long shot but anyone get the stickers off kk? I forgot to grab some last month.
  13. i noticed you have some power steering stuff there. what is that out of? And have you mounted it up yet?
  14. Unless im missing something, this post is in the lower north island region. Taurangas about 1.5hours from auckland...... Just saying?
  15. ^ what he said. I got my sedan for 3500 with a lot of work done to get it up to wof standard and VERY little rust. The interiors mint and it came with a ghetto ass sunvisor. Plus the dude met me half way.
  16. The only others I can think of would be the brown one in naenae which looks like it was bought new and never had a thing done to it, its got a big dent in front guard and the guy that owns it is well past retirement. And there's one sitting in a carport type thing in the belmont hills. From what I can see it looks really tidy. I was intending to have a chat with the guy about it and see if it was for sale but my one came up before I had the chance. I think its a goldy green colour.
  17. He had a facelift white one which he poured bog into, pianted then chucked on trade me and if I have my story right the guy that bought it is down south, blew up the 4m and has half finished a 5mge conversion and had it on trade me around the time I got mine. I think the 1j one is black from memory. Also facelift I think :s and he aparently has a stack of parts. But can't remember his name! maybe its just that with his one have a jz and it being one of about 4 I know of down here including mine I'm misleading myself a little haha.
  18. One of the dudes up the road from my work has 1jzt powered one as well.
  19. After all I have seen the gt4 3sgte in many rwd conversions.
  20. ill have a look tonight again but I'm fairly sure there was holes available that would work with custom made mounts.
  21. yes mounts are sweet, not sure if I need custom sump yet but if I do that's easy, intake manifold and exhaust manifold will be sweet to make. Good project. Dizzy will be replaced with wasted spark setup, probably have to re run a water line I think which runs to the turbo. Im not standing it up so don't have to worry about head. Yay another 2jz lets be like everyone else. I realise they're good motors but why not make use of what I have already?
  22. Ok, naturally id prefer lsd though. I imagine the dedicated drag cars are running lockers?
  23. Yeah I'm thinking ill just get it up and running then look at upgrades. Was more concerned about blowing the diff on the first drive. I'm going to do the conversion after summer. I'm not a huge skid person any more but I'm sure ill light it up every now and then when circumstances permit.
