  1. Slow progress is being made! Hit a little bit of a roadblock with the carb though, I am sure this was blocked off before it was sent away however doing so now makes it run rough? Carb in question is a Weber 34 ADF:
  2. Still having a little trouble tuning the carb, I am sure this was blocked off before it was sent away however doing so now makes it run rough? Carb in question is a Weber 34 ADF: I have never had any experience tuning carbs before, all my other cars are fuel injected (and just work)...
  3. Finally got some underbody shots for everyone that asked:
  4. Finally got a chance to get the new carb back on yesterday afternoon, engine is now running again (still need to figure out how to get the adjustments on the carb right as it is still running a bit rich) New rubber mounts were also installed and appear to have resolved the vibration! Still a few more suspension issues to sort out but at least the car is finally on the ground again.
  5. Carpark was almost totally full when I left today, took the Torana up.
  6. My brother ended up taking over this project, bumpers are now painted, broken interior parts replaced etc etc. He even managed to get it a WOF! I used it a couple of times last week to pick up car loads of parts, hasn't missed a beat yet.

    3.5L Rover V8

    They sound good though
  8. Made a little more progress this week, removed the carb and found it was the source of the fuel leak (rubber diaphragm split). Also removed some of the perished rubber mounts for the transaxle and suspension. Hopefully I should start getting the replacement parts over the next couple of weeks.
  9. I'm beginning to think my car is not as rare as I first thought.. Another one spotted on the motorway today:
  10. I feel like I need to buy a Mustang just to be a rebel.... https://www.bidbud.co.nz/1167807019
  11. This might help show how low it is, Volvo 240 behind it is the same height...
  12. Rain killed it today, stopped by in the morning for 20min anyway but there were only like 6 other cars there.. Hopefully we will get some sun next month!
  13. Had the car over the pit last week, found it has developed a fuel leak (not good in a car made of nice burnable material..) and a few minor oil leaks. Also found that the rubber mounts for the transmission and suspension had perished (making a nice vibration over 3000 RPM) Got it jacked up ready for next week:
  14. Looks very similar to mine, I didn't realise they had one too. And I thought my new car was rare..
  15. First new parts arrived, brand new mini indicator stalk: I stupidly took it apart to get at the wires and it sprung apart, tomorrows job is figuring out where all the bits went....
  16. Finally got someone with a real camera to take a some real photos:
  17. Another minor fault is the Indicator/headlight/horn stalk, indicating right does not stay on and the whole "stalk" rotates around (front to back) for some reason. Took me a while to figure out what vehicle this unit came out of however I have come to the conclusion that it is from a late 70's to mid 80's Mini! The right indicator would not stay on because the custom made fibreglass housing was in the way, on further investigation I found that the whole indicator unit was rotating on the steering column, the plastic clamp had split... Should not be too hard to get hold of a brand new unit, i'm sure the car deserves one after 30 years.
  18. Can't figure out what this dash is out of? I have been told they use Holden Camira units but can't find any photos of one and can't remember the last time I saw one..
  19. The only real Skoda part is the Transaxle, the early models had Skoda steering to but I think they switched to Triumph later on. The dash is out of a Holden Camira I am told, not too sure though?

  21. First job is to get rid of those horrible stickers, a hair dryer and a little de-solv-it sorted them out: Now to find a new stero with a reversing camera input, rear visibility is rather poor:
