Metalhead96 Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 *potentially Already sussed a front wheel, once rear is acquired I can atleast roll it round. the bro is gonna take the motor to his as he is bored and wants to have a play, dunno if it's saveable though but can't hurt to try 8 Quote
Metalhead96 Posted January 30, 2024 Author Posted January 30, 2024 De-clutterised some of this turd Actually looks a lot better already Lots of crispy bits still falling off it Cut up a fence paling for my seat base Need some baleing wire to patch up the leg sheild 9 Quote
Metalhead96 Posted February 1, 2024 Author Posted February 1, 2024 Have removed the rear wheel, drive hub is still stuck on the swing arm so will need some persuasive action to remove. Front wheel will be next, hoping atleast the speedo cable is saveable as the brake cable has well and truly turned to crust. After that the engine will come out and I'll pop the head off, see if it's worth my time. Might have a line on a v50 donk to slap in otherwise will look for a pw80 power house 2 Quote
Metalhead96 Posted March 21, 2024 Author Posted March 21, 2024 Wheels aquired, from a suzuki fr50 but are a 90% fit. The best bit though? Freeeebie...Zip, Zero, Naadaa Need to de spring the front and get the whole bike as low as poss, might be able to scrape the leg sheild on turns (doubt it) Also removed the motor, its well cooked so if anyone wants it for whatever reason its yours for a crisp high five Anywho heres some pickys 4 Quote
Metalhead96 Posted September 17, 2024 Author Posted September 17, 2024 Got the front end apart for make slam, will go a few mill higher as this photo is just with it sitting on the front tyre. However being that this thing is as crust as it is it snapped the front shock shaft off in the bottom so looking for another one. I also have the front tree from a honda CT laying about so maybe i look as getting some forks for those? Need a couple things spun up on the lathe which the old man is gonna sort for me, then i can more or less attach the rear wheel properly 6 Quote
Metalhead96 Posted October 5, 2024 Author Posted October 5, 2024 Aaaaaand out comes the grinder Yeah i think im liking this a bit more Taken about 50mm out of the front forks but will throw some shocks back in. Will add some steel back into the rear of the bike to regain some sort of structure 4 Quote
Metalhead96 Posted October 21, 2024 Author Posted October 21, 2024 22 hours ago, felixx said: what length shocks? ha I changed my mind again, full low and rigid. The old hardware is so fucked so have welded them at max slam, will keep an eye out for a complete front fork to replace them eventually as its most likely gonna ride like ass Quote
felixx Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 I have some suzuki f50 rear shocks approx 290mm long If they are of help Quote
Metalhead96 Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Had some time lately to work on this pos, for anyone who wants to know but AG front forks fit perfectly even with using the u5 headset bearings, score!! Think ive nailed down the look now, searching for a 19 or 21 inch front wheel to run a skinny tyre and some sort of tall bias ply rear tyre on the back but for now this will do. V90 motor sitting in the frame now too, needed to cut more of the frame and "massage" with a blunt instrument to fit but hey its in i guess. My mate is pestering me to go for a ride so should make steady progress each week 5 Quote
Metalhead96 Posted February 26 Author Posted February 26 Decided to do something different with the exhaust, just enough clearance for the kick start lever Rear brakes hooked up and "working" Engine mounted along with foot pegs Front wheel spacers made up and in, need to make something to keep the drum hub still Realistically only needs throttle cable, fuel line and wire up the key and coil Yee 3 1 Quote
Metalhead96 Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 Last 2 things before it can go on its maiden voyage Need a m18x1.25 nut for the rear hub to finish that off Has also decided to run a bit fucky wucky. Starts awesome, revs nicely and comes back to idle no worries but as soon as you jam it in gear it dies. If i have it on a stand i can put it in gear, go wide open throttle and it will pop/fart until it finally clears its throat. Guessing its way too rich but i cant lean it out any more, need some decent 2 stroke oil and gas though so will start there and try again Quote
felixx Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Hunterkiwi's mini bike was the same, we put a new plug in her and it was golden. 1 Quote
