bonkas
Another simpleton question... Not able to find a straight answer to this, I am wanting to make a late model alternator work with my old vehicles wiring (If Possible). The new alternator has the following wiring: The old alternator just used the Lamp and Sense wiring. Where I am getting confused is that most things I have read refer to older alternators where ECU's were not a thing and use slightly different terminology and naming conventions to this alternator, is this alternator really any different to those and contains more smarts than an older alternator? or can this type still be used by only connecting the Lamp and Sense wires - which I have read "should" work. chris r
Just wire the sense to the s terminal and the light to L terminal and ignore the rest Short story is yes it will work
bonkas
Awesome! Good to know, I read a few stories of alternators only supplying minimal voltage if those other two circuits are not functioning correctly/not connected. Just wanted to be sure before I got too far ahead of myself with this alternator.
