rusty360
A pc unit is just A small reduction box that bolts in between motor and gearbox say you use a 5.5:1pc add that to a 100:1 gearbox. you get 550:1. you can go higher with a gear box bolted to a gearbox I've got a 900:1 on a piece of plant at work it's got a tiny motor on it think it's 0.25kw but moves a big web with many tons on it. I can grab a pic on Monday if you like. we also run a few dc motors as the have pretty much constant torque when you start slowing them down compared to a standard 3phase motor on a vsd drive. hope the speel makes some sense.
