Bellicose
97 starlet, 4E-FE auto' 170,000 k's. Ok, so decided to get this back roadworthy but have a small issue. Battery was flat so removed and charged, now it starts fine but will not idle. Will run fine just above idle and up. Have also noticed a lot of moisture coming out of exhaust but may put that down to the car not being used for many months. All suggestions appreciated. AllTorque
The idle speed controller should be under the throttle body. It will have small coolant hoses going in and out of it. Remove throttle body and then idle speed controller. Plug in idle speed controller, when you turn the key on (don't try to start engine) the ISC should cycle back and forth. If not, remove the motor part of it and manually move the shutter. Add WD40 as required. Reassemble and see what happens.
