siren676 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 About to install power steering setup into my new shell and want to try prevent boiling the fluid while drifting. What sort of size should i go for? Also which design to go for tube with fins on it or a multi row trans cooler? Also is power steering like engine oil where you can damage things if its too cold? Quote
japawagons Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 The bigger of those two. I have the smaller one on my Circuit car and its not enough... 3 Quote

japawagons Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 That too, I've reduced my crankshaft pulley size also... Quote
siren676 Posted December 24, 2015 Author Posted December 24, 2015 That I'd rather not do, cant seem to find an under drive crank pulley for mx5 which has a harmonic balancer Quote
downtrail Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Goto zebra / wrecker with pully and find one thatll fit / needs a bit of modification to fit. Aim for a speed simmiler to 4000 rpm at full noise. Thats what ive done for my drift car. Never over heats but at low revs its a little heavy but meh. Quote
siren676 Posted January 28, 2016 Author Posted January 28, 2016 Thought i'd follow up on this, ended up buying a davies craig 281x112mm cooler, came with just enough hose to replace the whole low pressure hardline loop which went up to the front of the car(Was kinda bent anyway).Mounted up easy with the included parts, cant comment on its performance yet as i have only had a short drive up my driveway so far. 4 Quote
