Mitch.W
so i felt the need for a new daily driver, was looking at new cars and such nothing really grabbed my attention reallly. Until this popped up on trademe i saw it and had to buy it, made a phone call to the seller and a deal was done. I am the 2nd owner ever old guy who owned it since new passed away, lived in taupo its entire life. Its auto pretty tidy but the paint is a bit tired in places but im not too fussed. Plans are: -slam -wheels -manual -drive pulled these 14" volk racing wheels from the back of the shed somewhere. just need some s13 suspension and cut the springs to 100mm.. or there abouts might sneak in 80mm
Mitch.W
These are the wheels, 14x7 +5 or +10 and 14x7.5 -0 nothing crazy, they are now painted gloss gray as they had some knarley pitting on them and a super shitty pic of the car at hand Discuss here ://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/44150-mitchs-shitty-datsun/
Mitch.W
so i got some semi better pics of the car also pics of my wheels painted and with new tires on. On the 7's i got 175/65 and on the 7.5's i got 185/60 these should be a good size for daily duties as i drive at 100k's alot. Please disregard the huge fuckoff intercooler on the gx71. and then put the wheels on the car, i really didn't want to put them on until it was lowered but 1 of the tires was starting to crack around the entire sidewall so i wasn't too keen on that. Im b4 Mexican. Its going to get slammed about 95mmish so it sits between 90-100mm Mean. Mitch.W
edit, got some decent photos up after mucking aound so that shitty one can leave. These pics are Before guard rolling and just after i had "fixed" the suspension so it had to settle a bit after this and sits about 15-20mm lower looks alot nicer now. Still have to re-install the chrome and mudflaps. Will get new pics once the weather turns nice again. Mitch Edit Edit. fuck these pics got killed when put into Flickr, sorry boes.
Mitch.W
so decided i wanted music in this car so put a headunit in the glovebox to keep it nice and clean looking/new stuff is lame so but some holes and put it in there. the car came with this ugy hole where someone/old man before me had molested it so if anyone has that little pannel that goes in there it would be awesome! Also i think my diff mounts are stuffed as i think i can hear it moving around when i get on and back off the gas, its either that or extreme backlash! Also had a little dig at the "repair" on the sill (primer patch just below the driver door) and it seems to have been repaired with bog, i will leave the digging until i can suss out someone to fix it or i get gas for my welder. Next on the list is new front shocks and more slam with stiffer springs also maybe another 30mm or so lower all round and a nardi steering wheel. I am also thinking about doing a filler pannel where the number plate is at the moment and relocate the numberplate to unerneath the bumper, Thoughts?
