So ive been trying to figure out if i can get all my car certed before revin, thanks to the help of other members i found out i can.

Went and got a declaration of ownership and got it signed by a Justice of the Peace and talked to the gy at VTNZ he said just get it all upto standard then book it for a revin, he knows my cert guy so he'll just give him a bell to make sure its all legit.

So ive bought some Apexi adjusties with spring and platform and dampner adjustment just waiting for them to turn up which should be this week if all goes to plan.

ive worked out i need to shorten my dif housing 40mm each side to run the n14 rear disks and calipers, will be making up some caliper mounting brackets when the cnc's at the old mans work are free.

the impul meshies will be going 9.5" bead to bead did some mocking up to work out the kind of dish ill be running, clearances etc.

just flepped the centres and spaced them out.

want to keep the factory guards and will be rolling the inner guard and if i ever decide to run flares  etc i can just run spacers.

Anyway, photos..

My adjustables showed up in weekend, theyre apexi out of a dc5 integra, 3 way adjustable, sleeve, platform, dampner.

rears are 295mm from pillow ball mount to top face of the top hat.

fronts are totally sleeved and ill be doing a similar thing to what Brennan did in his ke70 with the max adjusties.

I'll be machining up threaded sleeves and weld them onto some mx7* struts that i already have

First start up vid!!! pretty happy to have it running.

ignore the part where the dizzy pops out.. its a t series dizzy but not a 2tg one so i can lock it down, just had mole grips holding it and the vibrated loose.

If anyone has a 2tg mechanical dizzy im keen to buy!

One of the members on toymods was kind enough to bring me a bumper over from Aus when she came to nelson for a holiday in january, it wasnt cheap but i couldnt find any replacements over here. had a few dents bit its pretty much rust free. I did some panel beating on it in the weekend and it came out alright.

In other news, i milled out the camber plates after work to give me more adjustment.

Also spent most of the day working out rim sizes and hopefully i will get it all finalised tomorrow.

looking to get new lips for the front to take them from 6.5" to 8" which should give me between 2-2.5" of dish on the front.

The rears will be going to 8.5" so i can run a legal size tyre for cert and will also allow the rim and tyre to tuck up inside the guard without having to smash the guards out.

They'll be getting new inner barrels and outer lips and have an offset well into the negatives, the diff will be shortened roughly 50-55mm a side.

and the rear rims should have roughly 115mm of dish about 4.5"

Photos to follow tomorrow..

Cheers

Not a lot has been happening waiting on some parts to arrive so just been playing around with wheel fitment once again..

decided to ditch the 9.5" rear rims idea at this stage as theres no specified tyre that a can get certed on with a 9.5 so settled on a 7.5" fronts (new outer lips with existing rear barrel should drop the offset to around 15 and 195/45 tyres).

8.5" rears (new outer lips and inner barrels about -35 offset 130mm~ish of dish, 225/45 tyres) tyres and rims will tuck no problems and can always go wider at a later date.

IMG_0837 by postlematt, on Flickr

and just cause i got bored..

flipped centres and painted black barrel as i wont be using these barrels 100mm of dish so there will be more with new barrels..

Look what showed up today..

Shortened hilux diff housing and axles 1260mm hub to hub so i can run my low offset rims without ruining the factory lines of the rear guards.

Also looking for a 4.1 diff head open or lsd hit me up if you have one going cheap!

IMG_0869 by postlematt, on Flickr

And also this, it wa sititng in customs for over a week while they sorted theyre shit out. they had classed it as commercial goods as it was addressed to me at my work so i had to do some chasing up and convince them it was personal goods..

Can you guess whats inside?

71' Flat tail lights with fold down fuel filler centre garnish!

13075674995_183d7dd0ec_c.jpg
IMG_0875 by postlematt, on Flickr

These things are pretty hard to get a hold of, they only came out on the 1st year of production 71' and early 72' models, doesnt help that these cars werent sold in NZ and i was told the first shipment of the 71 celicas to Aus never made it, the cargo ship capsized or something along those lines and all the cars were water damaged and written off.

Theyre from L.A. and werent cheap but will allow me to get rid of the fuel tank beind the rear seats so i can modify my rear strut towers to fit the rear coil overs and ditch the spare tyre well and run a drop tank plus i can delete the fuel filler on the rear passenger pillar..

On another note is anyone in the Auckland city area able to pick up 2 tyres for me and drop them off to a shipping depot, they're on trade me and the auction finishes this thursday (pick up only).

Payment will be made in order for you to purchase beers to replenish your thirst after a job well done.

Let me know if you can help.

Cheers

Matt

Had a go at fitting the new tail lights over the weekend, centre garnish doesnt fit flush because of the hinges used, this will be sorted once ive bought another drop tank.

In the mean time i started cutting the diff link mounts off the ta22 diff to fit to the new shortened hilux housing. has to use a plasma cutter as i cound get the angle grinder in there

Mounts cut off

Should give some idea hilux housing is about 100mm norrower than the stock ta22 housing

I got the lower mounts properly welded on after test fitting then spot welded the top mounts and test fitted the diff again. i was getting some real shit welds checked the gas was on and feed was all good, it was at this point one the spot welds holding one of the top mounts failed and i then realised id run out of gas..

So no more welding untill i can get more gas which sucks, i would have had it in the car had it not been for that. should give me something to do next weekend though..
