64valiant
so finally done some work on the valiant since the drags. not much thou. i shot down to the local rubber and foam suppler i use at work and napped up 13 meters of door rubber and replaced the old crap. cant see light threw it any more. i also ordered 8 meters of the closest and nicest dark green vinyl i could get to my seats. so this weeks jobs for me is to re upholster my car before kumeu on sat. hopefully i don't end up doing it all Friday night. 64valiant
so had a good weekend at kumeu and i also picked up some parts for my valiant on Sunday to complete my car. i got my horn back together on my steering wheel and a ash tray mechanism.this was earthing out on the bolt and the main peace it was meant to make contact with so it was going off when ever it wanted. so i quickly put some sticky tape over that and wabam no more earthing out looks all complete with the horn on there now.also the ash tray works now.here are some photos of my seats stripped and what notunder neath the back seat was like brand new stillthe foam was in good condition as well so i left it all on.the back rest was a different story so i ripped the old horse hair off and put some nice blue hard backed carpet in replace for extra comfortthen pulled the original foam over again and at this stage i had sewn it all together and injured myself. mates came put them on. i just grabbed a photo of the back seats all finished and in my car.rather happy with how it turned out now time to wait till my ankle is better and do the front seats.

64valiant
so i finally got my seat all back together and in the car on Friday night just in time to chuck every one in it to go get some goneburger. it looks like a complete car now and feels very comfy. i sit about 2 inches higher now that i replaced the spring protector. here is a photo of it any way.a bit of heat and some massaging and the wrinkles will disappear. but for now there is no more rips!!! dont know whats on the next to do list but im sure il find something online to buy
64valiant
so i finally got around to putting mu globes on the valiant.whats every ones thoughts on them? myself they are growing on me. need a smaller profile tyre and its also made the car a lot heavier to steer now as well.i had to use a hammer to beat this a part of my inner guard so i didn't completely wreck my tyres but they deferentially fill the guards up been an inch wider.
64valiant
so yeah beach hop is around the corner so i thought ild get a few things fixed and what not so i thought il replace my exhaust by putting a straight pipe in HAHAHAHAHAHA that was extremely loud!!this is my old oneso yup brought a muffler and got my mate to weld that in. this is what the inside of that looks like.it now sounds a hell of a lot better and seems to go a little better to.while i had my globs on i also got my other rims painted and polished them all up make them look spiffy. here is basically a before and after also i cleaned the white writing with some jiff and water. here is the difference in themi also dropped my head off to my mate to assemble. which he showed me my triple carbs with new linkages made up and working just minus one clip so i found on of them and shot back next day to find my head assembled and him waiting on my for my block. here is a photo of the head and carbsi think thats it for now. il be at beach hop from Wednesday onward. if u see me around come say hi.

Popular Post 64valiant
so nothing new on the valiant other than went for a random ass road trip to palmy north and back. stopped in at taupo to catch a ride with miniman76 in his race car. what a thrill!!!so after putting a new axle in the mini i thought i better give the valiant an oil change since it was well over due. out to the pits and jacked it up and a quick oil change was done the valiant sounds so much nicer for the oil change.also had a huge amount of guard rub on my right side so managed to borrow a HUGE bar from a socket set and threw 3 people in the back and a quick roll forwards and back and wabam we had heaps of clearance!!! we had maybe 5 more scrapes the hole trip. success motored down to palmy got on the turps a bit and watched che che and chong. next morning was all go, 1st stop was this beautiful picture with the havilland vampirenext stop was another plane picture with the DC33rd stop was with the bloody gumboot 4th stop was at the army base and had to get a photo of the valitank next to a tank. (p.s i cant park while trying to drink a energy drink)5th stop was at the bloody carrot 6th stop was the snow. check out our ugly mutts out. haha. got to go play in the snow though.7th stop was at horopito motors for a quick look and a check to see why i was losing my brake peddle :/and there we have it. 1000kms latter. about $300 worth of gas. one dead sparrow stuck in my grill (we named him fred) and my brakes disappearing we have our self a wicked road trip.list of things to do is get a rego and find out where my brake peddle was disappearing to..... hope you enjoy

64valiant
so yeah havnt touched the sedan in probaly 3 months now.....thought id better have a look the my brake problem and see why i was losing my brake peddle. as i drove it out of the garage while moving the other valiant around went to put my brake peddle down and yeah..... pretty much straight to the floor.so bummed around and thought ohhh wonder if it has any fluid and how that looksturns out it looks a bit like this not the site i wanted to see.il put it up on the hoist tomorrow or Thursday at my shop and see what i can find/see.just about to pull the front brake hoses off to go get some new ones made. shull wait and see....
64valiant
so i chucked the valiant up on the hoist..... couldnt find a leak or i didnt look hard enough (probably didnt look hard enough) while it was on the hoist i invited UTERUS over to use his massive amount of skills to stomp on the brake peddle so i could bleed them and since then everything is all tickety boo.well seems to be as of yet took it for a bit of a drive to my weekend job and had mates use it for a music video and its still all in one peace and still stops.i also managed to get this photo of it while my mates were doing there camera magic making a video pretty happy with how its looking atm.

64valiant
OHHH MAN!!! this build thread must suck something chronic none of my photos want to load on my computer. hope this isnt the same for everyone else out there reading this. all my photos are still live and visible on my face book. stuff is lamebut i have started using photobucket for my photos hope this fixes the problem. i paid for my oldschool nats and with that i went online and ordered my last part for the new engine hoping to have this engine in for nats. this next few months are going to be some busy months of working hard fixing cars and trying to make this work.found my old clutch plate so thats getting sent off to be rebuilt so i have a fresh clutch plate for when the engine gets removed and changed.i also had the best new years day. piled 6 of us into the valiant and shot out to raglan for a swim and some fush n chups and nabbed this photo. roll on 2015 and the good times. will see you all in 15 days at Kumeu car show
