FreePhase
Takin the diff of an ex to do a fluid change. i want to take it apart to see what condition. iv undone the nuts on the housing and the one on the pinion shaft. it starts to lift off but then gets caught. i imagine the axels need to be removed to free the gears up? i gave it a go but ill need a press of some sort to get them off is thea any one that could point me in the right direction? Cheers Matt
NVIOUS
Theres 4 bolts on each side in behind the drum brakes which hold in the axels so u have to take all the breaks off so you can take the axel bolts off then remove the axels then the head will come out
JoKer
pretty much the same for any Live axle RWD [i imagine having only delt with Avengers to date] except I'd be looking behind the BRAKES might need a slide-pull hammer to get axles out or bolt wheels back on and hit them like I did your Mum last night
bubblegoose
turn the drum brake around and put the wheel nuts back on a few turns and use the drum as a slide hammer (after undoing the 4 nuts behind the brake etc)
