78rona
Had a hard time keeping quiet about my new project but this is it! sold my gx61 yesterday and just picked this up today. Picture dump So its pretty tidy !! have got full service history , last owner had it since 1978 , has a rebuilt 4m in it with receipts, a few things to do straight away , there is a patch of primer behind passenger side rear wheel so will paint this to match, drivers seat needs repair , gearbox sounds like it has something rattling around in it, does anyone have a spare box ? this is a 4 speed , 5 speed would be cool but not to fussy yet haha, Plans are to lower this , figure out what i want to do wheel wise , am leaning towards a smoothie style wheel with white walls, exhaust and a hidden sound set up . any ideas what works suspension wise on these

78rona
So took it for its first WOF today , told them to be hard on it haha , it only failed on a couple of things!! dam photo won't rotate don't know why so number plate bulb , done Right/rear brake and hand brake, sorted Rust hole , not sorted! the hole itself is about the size of a 50cent coin ,but the area that needs cutting out is probably about 100 mm x 150 mm , good thing its only the spare wheel well , so not fussed how it looks. but heres the tricky part haha I don't own a welder nor have I ever welded anything!! Any Auckland based Oldschoolers keen to do a patch for me? please !! can buy you a box of your choice or cash? I'm pretty happy that this is all the car failed on! pretty good going ! 78rona
OK shit just got real! real rusty! 100mmx150mm was very wishful thinking hacked into it and it was alot worse! turns out the area that was in primer due to " being backed into" wasn't quiet true . looks like its had bad rust thats just been bogged over! so a lot more work than I thought , going to try cut it all out and patch it next weekend, I've got a mate that's a qualified welder that can do all the cutting, patch making ,welding , I've got access to a mig but does anyone know if there is anywhere you can go to hire the gas needed? hopefully I can get it all patched next weekend fingers crossed
78rona
grind-ed it back today and it grew abit haha, leaning towards getting this done by a good panel shop now , I actually want to keep this car so really want it done properly . Can anyone recommend a good shop in the oldschool community ? I know it could be pretty pricey but i think it will be worth it .

78rona
all wof'd and rego'd now , so of course time to lower it. Ended up with cut springs in the front but not for long have ordered proper springs ,and I want to go a little lower in the front, as for the rear found some random cobra springs under the house, know idea what car they are from, they looked like they'd fit and they do mint! it's settled a bit since these pics and is pretty slammed in the back now. so next is sort white walls, and decide on wheels, I've started getting bits in pieces for the hidden stereo install too . I really need to get some better pics of this .something other than my driveway haha
