  1. you are the true master of crownin ! man prob the best car build I've seen in NZ!!
  2. all wof'd and rego'd now , so of course time to lower it. Ended up with cut springs in the front but not for long have ordered proper springs ,and I want to go a little lower in the front, as for the rear found some random cobra springs under the house, know idea what car they are from, they looked like they'd fit and they do mint! it's settled a bit since these pics and is pretty slammed in the back now. so next is sort white walls, and decide on wheels, I've started getting bits in pieces for the hidden stereo install too . I really need to get some better pics of this .something other than my driveway haha
  3. Finally update time ! got the car back yesterday , really happy with how it turned out , colour matched really well! hopefully all wof'd and reg'd next weekend , then ill be lowering it asap! you may have seen the photoshop 63ragtop did of my crown but i'll put it here anyway haha plan is to run something like this wheel wise, i quite like the red but undecided on colour yet .Would anyone have contact's for steelies like these? next update will be slamming time.
  4. grind-ed it back today and it grew abit haha, leaning towards getting this done by a good panel shop now , I actually want to keep this car so really want it done properly . Can anyone recommend a good shop in the oldschool community ? I know it could be pretty pricey but i think it will be worth it .
  5. yea dude, I missed that post all together on jzx nz , found it after I had already put a deposit on it haha, I saw thomas at that performance car meet at meremere he mentioned the crown to me there.
  6. yea ryan thats the one, Matt other side looks to be alot better , fairly sure it wont be too bad to fix just time consuming , i'd just rather be driving it right now haha but thats how oldschool goes though aye.
  7. OK shit just got real! real rusty! 100mmx150mm was very wishful thinking hacked into it and it was alot worse! turns out the area that was in primer due to " being backed into" wasn't quiet true . looks like its had bad rust thats just been bogged over! so a lot more work than I thought , going to try cut it all out and patch it next weekend, I've got a mate that's a qualified welder that can do all the cutting, patch making ,welding , I've got access to a mig but does anyone know if there is anywhere you can go to hire the gas needed? hopefully I can get it all patched next weekend fingers crossed
  8. Don't think so mate , the last owner before me had it since 78, just happened to get told about it going for sale from a mate and jumped on it
  9. Thats dam nice seedy!! cheers for the heads up on the lowering! may be a little while before I throw money at this , got a wedding to pay for this year!

  11. So took it for its first WOF today , told them to be hard on it haha , it only failed on a couple of things!! dam photo won't rotate don't know why so number plate bulb , done Right/rear brake and hand brake, sorted Rust hole , not sorted! the hole itself is about the size of a 50cent coin ,but the area that needs cutting out is probably about 100 mm x 150 mm , good thing its only the spare wheel well , so not fussed how it looks. but heres the tricky part haha I don't own a welder nor have I ever welded anything!! Any Auckland based Oldschoolers keen to do a patch for me? please !! can buy you a box of your choice or cash? I'm pretty happy that this is all the car failed on! pretty good going !
  12. Haha yea dude its just the rubber on one side is worn through so it slides right over, I see what saying though.
  13. Wonder if this really is just an M series with glasspacks ? if so im shooting for a set up like this , sounds pretty sweet!
  14. cheers for the info sheepers , all sounds pretty sweet apart the drive shaft side of it really , may just try to fix this box up in the mean time, Looking for some seat belts for the back seats , Appco has the static ones for a pretty sweet price , just wondering if anyone has any lying around they'd want to sell?
