beachlander
Finally got my coilovers back from being welded, so chucked them together this afternoon.Fuck my iPhone is shit for photos.Lost one of the spring perches for the keeper springs, so machined a couple up.8kg springs, Ae86 vented rotors, and have some freshly rebuilt Ae86 front calipers as well.Couple of other things, got my Toda flywheel from Japan. Weighs about 3.7kg compared to 7ish kg for stock.Ended up getting a T series diff, as i wont have to modify my driveshaft to suit, just need to chop the mounts off and weld some on. Will need to learn how to drive smoothly though, or ill be snapping a few axels.Annnnd my wheels will be on there way back from Wellington before the end of the week hopefully. Plan is to have it running by March/April, so will see how i go. beachlander
Have been sort of productive with this of late. Stripped and painted the wheels, now just need to but cap screws and nuts and they will be going back together. Finally got it into the garage after having it out side the whole time I've owned it. Borrowed Sheepers engine crane (thanks heaps again) and chucked the 4age in. Was hoping to have the gearbox in as well but I'm still waiting on my clutch to arrive, which is taking forever. Ripped the standard diff out and cut off the bump stop mounts ready to put my t series in, but need the bolts that hold the axels in to assemble it. So this is how it sits now. Will be welding my radiator mounts in this weekend, and hopefully get the diff in if i can find these bolts. Spray can for the win. Got a Ae86 backing plate and also chucked on my Toda fly wheel. Just need to put my clutch on then the box can go on as well. T series diff is in, floor needs to be cut, which will happen when i take the fuel tank out, hopefully this week/weekend Also mocked up my twin headlight front, probably wont paint it for now. Gearbox crossmember didnt line up but might need a bit of pulling, or its the wrong one. Anyone got a te71 crossmember lying around? No pics but heres one of the headers i have for it. beachlander
Done some more things and stuff over the weekend. Made some hori as mounts for the radiator out of a pair of old bump stops, works a treat though. Also finally got round to assembling 2 of my riversides. Will be putting tires on this week. So now i dont have a very big list until it can go to be wired up. List includes: -Modify seat rail and fit seat. -Fit surge tank and buy another pump. -Get new rear half of driveshaft made up. -Buy and fit hoses for radiator. -Get my intake manifold to fit. -Possibly make up some sort of exhaust -Gearbox, engine and diff oil. Coolant. And bleed the brakes and clutch. Probably more stuff i missed but will find out when i get to it. beachlander
Updates and shit. Finally got a pair of tires onto the Riversides. And chucked them on the front. Poos pic but i am pretty much in love with them. Started assembling my dash/interior and got my seat mounted. And bought one of these fancy brackets which moves the throttle cable underneath the throttles rather than over the top. And had to mill out a bit of my intake manifold to make it fit. So pretty much ready for wire up. Quick question. The rear section of my driveshaft is 20mm too short. I was thinking about machining up a spacer which locates in the spigot like a normal one does. Would this be a problem? Any reason i shouldn't do it? Would be using high tensile bolts obviously and would be making it a very snug fit.
beachlander
Well hello there. So this is booked in for the 22nd to be wired up and tuned. Tasks for this weekend include finishing off battery relocation, plumbing up vacuum block, fitting oil catch can, and bleed brakes and clutch. Exciting.

beachlander
Well long time no post. First things first, Brendan dunker has the patience of a saint. After fucking round for almost 3 months to get it running on the megasquirt, he finally got it going. Then we had a chat and decided to go Link. Wish I had done this from the start but you live and you learn. Good thing is it is now running and driving. Need to do a few things then will be going onto a dyno for a proper tune.
