bubblegoose Posted April 1, 2012 Share Posted April 1, 2012 hello boys and girls, just after a bit of clarification and tuning the injection timing 'by ear' ive advanced it a little and now want to make sure its not too far advanced and only have my ears as tools, what exactly does too much advance sound like? Yowzer Posted April 1, 2012 Share Posted April 1, 2012 Without getting some weird and bizarre timing checking tool and adjusting it to factory stuff, just crank to the point that it smokes, then wind back a notch. Or keep tweaking till it feels the best. That's basically what I did anyway. Advancing the timing a tad will improve economy and reduce the egts, but the turbo won't spool up quite as fast.
