coldturkey
I've just put engine back in my C20 Vanette, but I cant work out some of the vacuum hoses, most small, like fuel line size, some even smaller. There are literally about 10 of them. Most of them I have hooked up, but there are a few, which I cant work out which to connect. Weirdest one is one that seems to go from the dipstick sleeve to the carb? Also a couple smaller ones that go from the carb to the intake?? Can I just plug some of these up, or is that gonna be mega bad?
bubblegoose
just plug the dizzy in and the crank breather ones and block the rest off (i preferred mine without the brake booster) there just there to save the pandas/emissions crap
RUNAMUCK
Delete everything bar the booster, crank breathers, and vac advance. I'm not really very familar with all the bullshit that the later Van motors were diseased with. I might have a spare zhorst manifold without the rebreather crap on it. I might have a car inlet manifold too.
coldturkey
Thanks for confirming my suspicions. Nah this one doesnt have the exhaust rebreathe but just heaps of bullshit lines everywhere. Cheers boys!
coldturkey
excuse my stupidness, but the crank breather is the breather hose on top of the rocker cover right, which goes into the intake, which you can put an oil catch can on?
RUNAMUCK
There is also a hose of a similar size on the inlet manifold just below the carb which goes to the block. This has the PCV valve attached.
