Poo
So the bumpers on the car have always been tatty, with the chrome strip broken in places and painted over with matty B. The rest of the paint on the bumpers was cracked and there was a few dents. The lower sections of the front quarters has also taken a hit, so off they came. Upper and lower valances were peppered with stone chips....... ^^ Surprisingly there was no rust hiding under here ^^ The bumpers have had work done on them before. Nothing major, just some glue and a slim of filler hiding under there. Now, theres a metal strip that runs over the top of both front a rear bumpers. I was as careful as I could be to get the clips to disengage, but the plastic was far to brittle and most crumbled and cracked between my finger tips. Karl BDA780 to the rescue again. He printed off some clips from a sample old clip I gave him. Perfect fit first time. I've still got to put the grill and park lights back in. I will have to give the rest of the car a decent cut and polish now. That can be next weekends job.

Popular Post Poo
Well, Oldschool Nationals 2015 weekend was a hoot. Those that were there will know. Those that weren't there missed a long weekend of good mates, sweet roads (including gravel), hooning, boozing, yahooing. Holy hell was I surprised when prize-giving rolled around on Saturday night and the Eterna picked up Best Sedan. Shit the bed! There was a heap of other sweet Sedans there and it is honor to get the award. After driving the hell out of the car here is how it sits in the garage.

Popular Post Poo
One job that I've had to do since ages ago is replace the rubber bushes in the rear suspension arms. The car has always had a bit tyre shake or axle tramp when briskly accelerating from a standing start. The rubber bushes in rear arms of the car were in good shape, just soft. So in preperation for the //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/53865-oldschool-christmas-tree-drag-day-mark-4-december-10th-meremere/ I enlisted the help of Dave/Sentra and the improved hoist. There's a couple of pictures that I took before the battery on my phone went flat. Not so wobbly hoist: Floppy rubber: Red stuff: Dave!!! Notice the hub bushes around the wrong way??? Whoops. They also needed to be linished to get the hub to fit back in. In: And just because its a pain to get it into 3rd on the dragstrip (rest of the time the gearbox is mint): We also changed the engine oil to a thicker grade......Not much of a change, it still smokes. The tyres shake less under heavy acceleration, but still present. I'll look at getting the car aligned and setup at some point.
Popular Post Poo
So this thing when to 2016 Oldschool Drag Day. Such a sweet event put on by a bunch of good dudes, passionate about crusty old cars. And supported by us! As mentioned before, I use to have real issues getting the car into 3rd gear on the strip. Redline MT90 has sorted that issue. Last year the best that the car could do was 16.4 at 85.7mph. Due to slow shifting into 3rd gear. This year was much better........15.2 at 90mph Stoked to get the 'Best Skid' award. Stolen pics from others with fancy cameras. Thanks for the memories. xoxo
Popular Post Poo
Déjà Vu Another OS Dragday done for the year. Such an awesome day. Thanks to everyone involved. I picked up 'Best Burnout' again!! I think doing a such a massive burnout that sets the mudflaps on fire sealed the deal. After the rather large burnout the temp came up and the run down the strip was slow, as the ecu wouldnt let me rev past about 5k rpm. I didn't think much of the situation and traveled down the return road and slowed to pick my appalling time slip from Evan. Then two of the track officials came running over with fire extinguishers. My mud flaps had caught fire! After putting them out the track staff high five'd me and sent me back to the pits to scrape the remaining spent rubber off from the inner guard. Great shot from Andrew Snow tyres for the win. 26
