Akaname
Alright.. I have an aftermarket in my Mk2, duno who installed it ect as it came with the car.. Problems with it are: My car aparently idles at 1K rpm When i take off the tacho runs around to 4K and stops, though if you set shift lite to 5-6K it lights up.. Any ideas on how to sort this? Or better off getting a new tach?
Mike-e
sounds like the tacho itself is incorrect for the car, may be off a 6 or 8 cyl or rotary or something. it also sounds like a MONSTAR tacho so chances are it can be adjusted via a switch or something to suit a 4 cyl
Akaname
Yeah, theres a 3 part switch on the back, but some dumb ass removed the rear casing so all the internals are free for attack and i duno know whats 4cyl, 6 cyl and 8.. Its a Specometer, dosent look too bad as it dosent have a shift light the size of a cuban cigar
My name is Russell
I recon put a 6 cyl engine then a 8 cyl engine in your car and if it doesnt work for either of them then there must be something wrong with your tacho.
Akaname
Haha, yeah.. I was thinking along the lines of a Supra engine then maybe stealing a V8 super car and shoehorning the engine into my Eskie
