just bought this off tardme for $200

rego on hold

will be my new daily when its finished so i can sell

my 87 levin (judt didnt feel right driving a flash new car like that) lol

doesnt come with the hot wires but does come with

standard wheel,hubcaps and beauty rings.

picked it up tonight

was so much fun towing it back in the dark

with out lights

and not being able to see out the window so i had

my head out the window like a fucking dog lol

ok so i was fucking around with it today to try and get

the old girl to start and after about 3 hours it did all i had to do

was...

*sort the firing order (number 1 ht was the only 1 right)

*replace 2 ht leeds (got shit loads off old escorts)

*sort timing it was almost 180 out

*carb was leeking fuel just as fast as i could get it in

so a siliconed the fuck out of it for now

*change the fuel pump (was another one sitting in the boot)

*make a fuel hose from the pump to carb with a fuel filter

*put fuel in it

went and picked some parts up of the guy i bought it from

he gave me another carb.new ignition,pretty newish exhaust

and some other pits.

i just need to get a new water pump as that is totaly fucked

and then it will be sweet and i can sort the timing and let it

run for a good amount of time and see if there are another issues.

has anyone got a standard air filter for one of these?

i got the engine bay all cleaned up ,primed and painted

and also i found no rust at all (has to be a 1st for me)

i also undersealed the boot i did find

a wee bit or rust in the drivers side wheel well

so i welded and boged the cunt.

my new water pump arrived yesterday

thanks to prozac for finding that for me.

ive been thinking about the paint and i dont want it to look all new

looking so insted of painting it in a nice warm clean garage or spray oven

with an extractor fan i have decied to spray in in my dirty cold garage

early sat morning so the metal is cold.

i also will not be fixing any of the dents im just going to spary it....

and im not even going to clear it so it should look a wee bit weatherd

and then ill leave the rest up to chch weather.

i just want it 1 colour and clean but oldish looking.

build so far with new waterpump

ok so i painted it about 8am last sat

without any clear in a dusty garage

and i have to say its not to bad for the worst

paint job ive ever done lol

but the paint does look old and weathered and that

was the idea

i also spent some money on a new battary and plugs today so that was

$130

taking the total to $462

but after taking it for a wee drive i have found out the motr is fucked

so if anyone has a good running 1256 please let me know.

ok drove this beat to work and back for a week( about 140ks)

and it run like a bag of shit lol

i bought an adapter of smokinjoe and cut the weber flang off it

and welded it to my adapter i had i then bolted it to the manifold

and ran the weber carb for 3 days till to day when i got the wifes

perjbro to use and fully weled my adapter to the manifold to sort out the

air leeks.

i fulled the port with kneed it to make the shape

and weled the cunt up

i had about 15 mins at work to make a accelorater cable mount

the auto choke is mint starts 1st turn of the key

runs like a dream and smooth and i got about 155kph out of her today

just fucking mint

ok so ive been using this bad boy as my daily now

for a few weeks do about 130-140ks round trip per week.

and i can honestly say the old girl is growing on me apart from the motor

dont get me wrong shes ok wee bit hit and miss in stop start shit but on the

open rd gets up to 100 very easly but thats not me lol.

so im planing on doing a converstion on her .

heres what i have so far

im going to fit it to a 2.0 pinto and i know what some of you are thinking ....no not another fucking pinto...

but im a ford guy and i love the motors i have everything i need to bolt a xflow in and drive it so

im going to use a escort sport 4 speed box and boltb a supercharged pinto in.

well i got a bit of time in the garage thismorning

so i pulled the old 1256 and box out and had a play with the

old pinto block i had under the bench and a escort box.

i managed to get it sitting in there nicly just need to cut down

some cortina mounts and it should be sweet.

i got sitting so that the 2nd piston is almost inline with the crossmember

and springs so thats not to bad

and heaps of room for the sump so i dont need to mod it

ok so i welded up the mounts at work today and i also managed

to get the motor as low as possable and as close to the firwall

as i can i may need to cut nicly /fully bash the firewall for the head lol

but ive got 3/4 of the 1st piston in front of the suspention

i know its not a race car but it may aid in me going around corners

a wee bit better
