Kingpin
anyone on here know about xf era for auto boxes? or recommend any good garages? heres what my problem is: the auto is slipping if i put the boot in too hard...someone told me its belts slipping and probably knackered....so i have been looking for a replacement auto. i then called an auto place up and the said it may just need adjusting..... any opinions? chur Brett
xsspeed
What year is it? You say xf, but I think you mentioned it's a '95, which would make it an nf (ie same as ef falcon)? I think the same happened in my old ef, to start with it was when I put my foot down and revs would slowly rise then it was as it a clutch dropped and power then went to the wheels. After a while it started to do it even at part throttle. IIRC there is no way to tighten the belts, which iirc was the problem, as there is no adjustment. I think the only way is to replace, which means rebuild, so you will probably find a 2nd hand box cheaper. FWIW check out fordmods.com - plenty of tech info in there if you can wade through the rubbish.
