Problems with my 1600 in my mk1

Just been reading classic ford mag and they say that there are 2 different block widths for the crossflow. 681, 691 blocks are narrower than the 711m block. The numbers are the first 3 numbers of the block number. If it is a narrower block it will sitting lower so you may need a longer mount to suit the narrower block. Hope this helps.

whoops m, i assumed we had 711m blocks

I went and checked a couple things on my car in the weekend, the engine is a 711 block and I have the right mounts on the correct sides, which only leaves me with the thought I have the wrong sump. So I'm gonna try get myself another 1600 escort sump. Thanks for the help guys
