madaz
Hi everyone, I'm tidying up an old car and want to know whats the easiest way of making very old hose clips like new again. I dont want to replace them with modern stainless steel hose clips and I dont want to have to scrub them either. Is there a "magic liquid" I can soak them in? any help would be appreciated
Testament
it depends what on them? a rag and kero/meths/degreaser/brakleen etc. usually works reasonably well but unless its only grease and not rust they wont look "like new" Also what wrong with scrubbing them? or do you have about 100 to clean or something like that? I don't know if that silver tarnish remover stuff would work? but thats just a random idea.
eskynut
Coke can work sometimes - depends how greasey. If too dirty I've always tried atf oil and it works a treat especially on alloy. Just leave soaking in atf then wash off with hot soapy water or parts clean in a day or two.
