Ke36
suprise suprise i get one thing sorted and i have another problem fitted my springs today(only 60mm drop as i wanted to check clearances before i "trim" a little off them) and my fuckin upper diff arms hit the chasis rails!! theres a cut out notch thing in the rails for where they are meant to go but its hard on them im wanted to do close to a 100mm drop!!! its still got like 50mm clearance to the bump stops and top of the tyres only just in the fucking guard!! is it to do with the wider hilux housing? short of pushing the whole fucking thing off a cliff what are my options? Ke36
ok already been thinking, moving the mounts is probly not the best option and to do anything to the chassis rail would be costly, c notch etc as long as i keep the distance between both mounting points the same am i ok to make the arm any shape i like? woundnt make a difference would it as there just a pivot and stop sideways movement correct? so i could make them something like this?(top ones are straight factory) still certable?woffable etc
Testament
I think you would have some trouble with getting a cert going to bent links like that, it makes the arms a whole heap weaker. I would be looking at the mounting points on the diff and the chassis.
Ke36
yea talked to diff guy today and he said arms have to be straight said easiest option was to notch chasis but i dont think it will give me all that much room unless i drop the mounting point of the arm to the body as well anyone know what this will do to my suspension? im just worried it will fark up my geometry ill try get some pics of the area
