2l and a floorshift 4spd are in , gemmy jetted nikki carb and lack of weight makes this blooody good fun on snow tires,

more progress soon truck tail lights and a cattle crate ,

u might be a redneck if the tires on your truck cost more than your truck

jason023uj1.th.jpg,

cut the battery box out today and cleared the wiring loom went well,

jason024ki6.th.jpg

so i cut the tunnel out and had a dummy fit.

cast exhausts won't work over the chassis and out the wheel wells is the go

jason027uy7.th.jpg

so made a little headway not bad for a $20 grinder and me after a nightshift,

tommorow i'll drop off the logs and block it up to mock up the mounts gearbox mount will be pretty close to bolting up and get the flanges cut for the extractors

my bad shit brain bad hosting,

jason030kl7.th.jpg

so empty engine bay removed battery box then started measuring at this stage was a looks like its gona work job!,

jason036qq1.th.jpg,

sitting where its meant to 50mm up from the x member sump is 15mm in front of it,

blocked it in position here as mounts will sag 10mm or so when she winds up,

throttle body is 10mm off the firewall and steering works lock to lock without hitting,

exhausts will go out through the guards then along the chassis rails two inch each side,

jason038oq4.th.jpg

and heres where the trans is at crossmember that i made to fit the 2l can be adapted,

back to work today so mounts next week and track down a yoke etc

would have to be the easiest non bolt in conversion ever see how it goes and then you guys judge

passenger side needs some tweaking as the starter blocks any chance of the zorst going down past the chassis rail,

so the tunnel will have some heating in it as the exhaust will loop over the top then drop down below to go between the rails

dscf3192el8.jpg

dscf3192el8.b90a354459.jpg,

in tank fuel pump courtesy of the paddock find car, just have to cut the piece out of the old tank weld it into the ute one or make something stainless styles with baffles in shit in it so it dont starve doing helis

dscf3193it9.jpg

toying with this idea removable bug catcher styles for skid comps with big butterfly and 3 55mm trumpets and filters mounted internally running links back to the throttle for full working

action and a 3 inch intake flared into the back of it to plumb up

dscf3194ic9.jpg

dscf3194ic9.47a0457a2d.jpg,

removable mind you i ain't cutting the bonnet on this one

got enthused today and started tacking my tunnel back together,

ran out of gas unfortunately so jus tacks atm,

i split a piece of 2" exhaust tube into quarters with a jig i made for my angle grinder

to give the tunnel nice straight lines and rounded edges where it joins with the floor,

my mig welding leaves a bit to be desired but a healthy dose of gas should tidy it up

got it out today as the suns shining, neighbours cat shall learn to live in fear if i ever have to wipe another pawprint off it,

been playing around with engine mounts, going to use some gemini steel mounts that normally bolt to the block inverted to weld to the chassis, also tryed some og coils in there with a quarter nipped off so it will seat correctly

b3800004um9.jpg

w800.png

have a wee offset issue with the passenger side needs the top wishbone spaced in a little to get correct allignment,

with my bumpies cut down to 15mm i have 85mm travel at a static ride height of 100mm below the chassis on the 17s,

with the 14" modgies i have it will be too low to get out the driveway lol love it :D ,

will get it on my mates chassis machine regardless and get it all lasered up before the cert

b3800006lh9.jpg

w800.png

drivers side definitely looks better although i have to get one more bolt ground out before i can get the b200o lower arm on that side,

also had a play with the brakes and will use a gemini booster and master that fits the gap

Bit of an update pics tommorow,

have made engine mounts using ea falcon rubbers and custom brackets to the block

and chassis,

mounted new driveshaft,

will tack new mounts in tommorow and then set up the shifter position on the tunnel then remove engine and box to cut old mounts off the chassis,

finish the tunnel before engine back in

and mount fuel tank solid

welder fucked out today but got the engine and box out,

cut out original mounts and welded them in as gussets to support the x member,

sorted the shifter position then hitched home

retain wellside monday and visor and hire a caddy arc to finish engine mount welds

new school is so gay

so all i have to do really is

brakelines

some suspension shit

glue and pop rivet alli panel to tunnel in at the coach builders

bolt seat and belts back in

sort gauges and speedo

refit lights grill and bumper

spray satin black

sort the 16" pursuits out i have with tires

cert wof and reg

on another note man i know may be able to make a new crown wheel and pinion up for me to get some

awesomely tall ratios to match the commodore donk,

i was thinking commodores run a 3.08 on 205 70 15's

so a 2.92 on 205 40 16's would be the go
