Guest redseven
Are they around cant seem to find any? is the 50, 50% of the tyre width (195) is this correct? So a 185/55/r14 would have about the same wall hieght?
peteretep
50 is in relation to the height of the tyre in mm, so a 55 is 5mm higher than a
thminiman
are you sure? ive always thaught that 185/55 means that the wall is 55% of the 185(width of tire)
atropine
wrong dude.. profile isnt a measurement.. its more a percentage 185/55 is 0.33 inches taller than a 195/50, about 8.3mm i think (aka raises car 4.15mm, not much at all) not sure if you can get them.. rwd_mayhem
nah the only tyres ull find 4 14s r 195/60, the lowest profile u can get is 50 eagers but theyr like 245/50 made 4 falcons etc.
atropine
im sure thered be something.. maybe not exactly 195/50 but im sure thered be something under a 60profile.. ive had 195/60r14s though..
rwd_mayhem
nah honestly i had 14" spitties which i bought off a m8 and neither of us cud find nethng lower than 60 profile, best was the 245/50 eagers (which wudv never fit under te71 gaurds the 195s wer rubbing enough as it was)
atropine
wierd.. im sure ive seen lower..
atropine
and 245/50s would be stupid if you were wanting lower-pros, as theyre higher anyway..
rwd_mayhem
i bet u tht u wont find nethng lower profile in 14s. and yea it wud b higher so thers no point
Guest redseven
I think all 14" tires have the same rolling diameter, Ive got a bit of rub against the fire wall on the fronts so I mite have to ditch the 14's for 13's and maybe do a 175/60/r13 what do people put on minilites? peteretep
oh, proven wrong then, pretty weird way of measuring though, is there any reason why its done that way rather than the way i thought it was?

(yes, even the 175s) plenty of people run 205+.. even say 235s on 13" minilites..
atropine
oh, proven wrong then, pretty weird way of measuring though, is there any reason why its done that way rather than the way i thought it was? to confuse people lol theres a reason.. as the profile has an idea range i guess.. and theres calculation between width to find it i guess.. i dunno.. its queer lol
rwd_mayhem
but if u look at a tyre say a 215/50/13 it doesnt look like the sidewall is 50% of the 215, it cant b tru

rwd_mayhem
yea but i still dont get it coz a 215/50/13 tyre will look alot smaller than a standard tyre (155/70/13) when u look at it on the car but on the site it says thers hardly ne difference
