Hey Team, so after declaring never to by a rust pig again....... I did it - FML 1st Mission is to fix the rust, which was waaaaay worse than first expected. Then do a 1UZFE conversion keeping the factory W55 5 speed.

I have bought a poorly treated, unloved 1981 KE70 Toyota Corolla, with the vision of restoring and also upgrading it to the 3SGE Beams Black Top. I want to set the car up so it can be taken to the track and also used as a show car. I have bought a 1999 Toyota Altezza with a 6 speed manual box and the donating Beams engine. Will post photos and discussion as the project goes on, please feel free to ask questions

Hey guys and girls, So I'm working through an engine conversion on my S13 Silvia. I'm dropping an FJ20et out of the DR30 skyline into it and I've just about finished all I can do on my own. I'm looking for a workshop that could finish off my driveshaft but also if possible one that could re-make me a proper pair of engine brackets. I've roughly welded up a couple just to hold the engine in place while I work on the crossmember, sump, exhaust etc... but I don't really trust my welds enough yet and would like to get a pro to take care of the engine mount brackets. So basically, I'm asking if anybody knows of some workshops around Auckland that specialise in engine conversions and would be able to re-make my engine mount brackets and also fab me up a custom driveshaft. ( I have trust issues from the last place I had to make me an exhaust system so I need some good recommendations) Thanks for any help.

Hi everyone. I own an '84 Bluebird which currently has a FWD CA18E Auto in it. I really want to convert this to a manual, but unsure whether to buy a manual gearbox if possible to fit it to the current motor, or buy an already manual motor. So a couple of questions: Which method will be the easiest/most cost effective? If I were to buy another whole motor, what models would bolt straight in? Would converting to manual be worth it? Cheers

Hi all, I have bought a LD28 to upgrade from the SD23 in a bedford. The van already has a 5 speed from the sd23, can I use this box and flywheel on the LD28?

Hi all, i have a c33 laurel which im putting an ld28 in and i want to turbo it, iv read all over the internet that the l20et exhaust manifold works so i sourced one of these and found that the studs dont quite line up, i did a little grinding work to make it fit but now when i try to fit the intake manifold on it cant fit around some parts of the exhaust manifold. i cant seem to find any info on this. Would an l20et intake manifold fit? what else can i do other than getting a custom manifold as i want to keep costs down?

Hey all, Im new to old cars and have been given a 1963 mk1 cortina rolling shell with some pretty gruesome rust (pics to follow shortly) and a 2l pinto engine (not in it). What do I need to know to put this engine in.....? Any pitfalls or traps I should look out for? Has anyone done this before and created a definitive how to guide? What sort of brake and susp upgrades would you recommend? Ive looked about online and seen heaps of cool pics of the same conversion but only vague write ups. Any help would be appreciated, Cheers Vin
