  1. **Update** Alrighty, so the cars running and currently sitting like this, thanks to this. So, got a spare radiator fan and hooked it up, didnt work. Which leads me to believe that the relay has pooped itself. Also, thought I would share what I accomplished in Photoshop. Aaron out.

  3. I will be needing a red sticker thank you very much.
  4. Cheers guys, will get onto that.
  5. Anyone got any ideas on an upgraded radiator for a KP61? Or will I have to go with a stock one.
  6. **Update** Sooo0ooo0ooo... potential blown head gasket/cracked head. Mechanic didn't actually take the head off and have a look, but wanted to charge me $1500. Got hold of another mechanic up the road, says he will do it for free if I can get the parts. Radiator is poked, so trying to suss another one (any ideas on an upgrade?) Also installed a single 4" speaker in the front (want to keep the door cards unmolested)
  7. Yep! Hopefully the car is running by then.
  8. Oh sweet! Thanks for all that. I went and had a chat with the mechanic this morning, and he had quick look over the car and said it could possibly be the coil or frost plug? But thanks for all that info.
  9. Nah, was cold when it stopped. And yeah, its the only car I got so kinda had to unfortunately.
  10. Yeah heaps. Thinking about it now, when I pulled over, I straight away opened the bonnet (note: no smoke at all) and felt the radiator cap. It was cold. Also when the AA dude arrived, he checked the dizzy (which was fine) and noticed a bit of a leak in a pipe that is right on top of the spark plugs. Now I've done a bit of research (and correct me if im wrong) but if water leaks into the spark plug gap, wont that make the car start but not crank over? Thanks all.
  11. Sweet cheers. The battery is quite new, so it shouldn't be that. Fair enough its hard to diagnose. Will just have to wait to hear from the mechanic.
  12. Yeah well I would, but he hasn't looked at it yet. I just didnt want to go ahead with it if its going to cost like $1000, when I could get help from some OS boes if I compiled the parts.
  13. Hey guys, just a tech question. My car tends to overheat (the fact it doesn't have a working radiator fan), and the way I overcome that is by driving (motorway mostly). Now I think I have completly buggered the car. I drove out to Otahuhu from the Shore to pick up some tires, and realized it was overheating. So naturally I jumped on the motorway to cure this issue. On my way home the car started spluttering and eventually died. When I tried to start it again, it wouldnt turn over. I had just had the plugs, leads and points done so I didnt suspect them to be faulty. So, I was thinking, I had encountered this problem on my Charade, and found out it was a blown head gasket. Now the car is at the mechanics getting checked out (not fixed yet), but I was wondering how much this thing is to fix usually? Thanks in advance.
  14. Cheers all. But the car is rather fucked. Potential blown head gasket. Drove out to Otahuhu to pick up new tyres and was running quite hot, then it started cutting out and then went poop.
  15. Cheers dudes. Snoozin: You gave them to Karl, who still needs to give them to me And cheers Kevo mate.
  16. Haha nice. I was thinking maybe compressed springs, thoughts? And I hope to god that I dont get the ticking noise again. If I do, I will follow your instructions.
  17. + Exhaust manifold has a leak, so need to replace the gasket. (fixed/checked) Finally discovered the cause of the "mysterious ticking noise", it was the gasket. It had fully cracked so got that shit fixed. Next (i hope), + Get the rust fixed on the drivers side, and also fix the drivers side pillar (has a nice dent in it somehow) Sounds pricey.
  18. + Dylann's Enkeis (check) Picked them up today. Plan is to chuck my 155's on them for a nice streched look (as below) Next up, + Exhaust manifold has a leak, so need to replace the gasket Wish me luck.
  19. Yeah mate. By the way pretty sure you only live around the corner me.. Yeah, saw you down by Meadowood the other day. Your car looks sick
  20. **Update** Heres a pic of its current state. + Sold the Hotwires (which I kinda regret) + Took the old blanket out of the back, and replaced it with an even older crochet blanket + Back seat was a bit rooted, so have covered it in some lush sheepskin + Had the points, condenser and timing done, and the leads;plugs and air filter replaced *Plans* + Dylann's Enkeis + Lowered + Exhaust manifold has a leak, so need to replace the gasket + Get the rust fixed on the drivers side, and also fix the drivers side pillar (has a nice dent in it somehow) + Woodgrain steering wheel Thanks for reading.
