  1. Cage out. Two little words to describe an entire afternoon's work. Picked up a recip saw from Hirepool. What a Cool Man Toy. Sliced the tube with impressive vigor. Easy part was getting the bulk of the cage out. Thanks Shaneo. Then few hours entertaining the neighbours with the angle grinder to remove the stubs. First of the Tarmac Series tomorrow! With the forecast I put the passenger window back in after faffing around sorting out the best glass and rubbers.
  2. Rain in morn supposed to be clearing around midday? Not dampening my enthusiasm! I have installed my super high tech windscreen wipers. AKA rubber bungs in wiper spindle holes to stop water pouring in over electrics...
  3. Already booked, Shaneo is bringing his.
  4. RubberDuck sounds good if other trailers going. Otherwise I'll be slowing you up.
  5. I hope this is I dont think so to work, not sideways action!
  6. Looking forward to it! Also looking forward to meeting some more oldschoolers. You won't be able to miss the lime scort so come and say hi. Rain at last advance drift day was great to get low powered cars sideways. So much fun I forgot my car had no passinger window and leaks like a seive. Last forecast I saw has rain only developing in the evening
  7. No problem, can put it in back of my van.
  8. Yes, but would need to enter each one seperately I think. Will not be able to collect points for series.
  9. http://www.fiatcarclub.co.nz/ I don't think it has been updated with this event yet as it has just been announced. I'll ask them when it will be updated.
  10. Fantastic! That would be great help! PM sent.
  11. Cage will be fixed with angle grinder and recip saw in a couple weeks... Sorted my belts so they are not off the cage. Now to pull the cage out, get log book and clubsport complied. Then have fun spanking her in the Tarmac series. Then/during work on the details for WOF and Cert, then maybe proper cage back in? Excellent!
  12. Keen for on OS Comp! Shaneo keen to give his car a spanking again. -As usual...
  13. I hear someone is being a little modest... Do like the ASB add says! Get those videos up! (please)
  14. Detail of event and links to forms copied from another site: (Campbell was happy for detail to be posted up.) Rob's asked me to let you guys know about the fiat tarmac series as it's setup perfectly for beginners to motorsport. The series is setup that the best 4 out of 5 rounds count towards your final score. Everyone’s scores are based off the winners score with the formula of points = fastest time divided by competitors time * 100 – You can use this formula and run your own fastfrogs competition within the series, the guys in the mini’s do the same thing. The series runs on the second Sunday of every month from the 9th of June with the Motorkhana until the Hillclimb in October. The series order is: 1) Motorkhana - Hampton Downs Skid Pan - This is a low speed event where you typically will not get out of first gear. There is typical 4 courses (Slalom run, Cloverleaf, Christmas Tree, etc...) which you will get 2 timed runs at. 2) Autocrosse - Hampton Downs Skid Pan – This is a mid-speed event where you will get into second gear. It’s basically a go-kart track on the skid pan. You will typically get 1 practice run and 3 timed runs. 3) Bent Sprint - Hiwi Road – This is this first of the high speeds runs where speeds of 170kph+ are very possible. You will get 1 practice and 3 timed runs on the road. 4) Dual Car Sprint - Hampton Downs – This is an introduction to circuit racing where you will line up on a grid of 6 – 10 cars and paired cars will leave at set intervals. Its designed to get you use to racing with other cars on the race. It’s the best timed lap that counts not if you beat your paired race partner. You typically will get paired with a car with a similar lap time. 5) Hillclimb Event - Sainsbury Road – This is the last of the events and typically this is when the championship is decided. 15. The Fiat Club Waikato Tarmac Series is on again for 2013. My car was not ready last year, but SUPER KEEN for this year. How keen you say? So keen I just entered and paid for the 5 race series! Should be some great action. Nice variety in courses. I like the up to 170kph comment for the bent sprint… Videos look great. Not sure the olde essex will get up to 170 but will peddle it as fast as I can. Looks to be really well run and great way to get out with one Sun a month over five months. Excellent way to get into motorsport too. Motorkhana, Sunday June 9th, Hampton Downs $30 Autocross, Sunday 7th July, Hampton Downs $40 Hillclimb, Sunday 11th August, Sainsbury Road. $80 Dual Car Sprint, Sunday 1st September, Hampton Downs $150 Bent Sprint, Sunday 20th October, Hiwi Road. $80 (Note event location swap, dates the same) Total $380, but discounted to $350 if enter all five. –Get the Motorkhana for free… Heaps of spots available so book it and come out for some Fun. Soooo Oldschool Competition Results from round one: Keegan - Fiat Uno - 100 japawagons Steven - Toyota Corolla - 96.21 xsspeed Mark - Fiat Uno - 93.21 mark105 Heath - Peugeot 205GTI - 93.1 drtdvl Shane - Ford Escort - 87.21 Shaneo Max - Ford Escort - 85.52 M_C Brent - Mazda RX-7 - 83.74 Archetype
  16. Cheers, I figure cars are made for Driving. If it breaks, fix it and go again. Your mini should handle the jandal. Looks great too with the stance.
  17. Thanks Frosty! WIll be helpful. I could have done with some wipers on Sun.
  18. Ironically the weather on Sat was pretty good. Ah well, had great family day instead. But heavy car withdrawal symptoms were kicking in so a gymkhana/drift day was booked at Hampton Downs with Advanced Drift through their FB page. $30 = bargain! Shano had his rubber arm twisted to come for some skidding. He brought is Instant Friend Maker aka easy up. Good Job! Some OldSchool fords amongst more typical drift wheels. Yes, I am supposed to be facing this way... It was a little bit wet.
  19. Was lining up a track day to Puke controlled testing tomorrow Sat 18 with the boys. But weather forecasts deteriorated to persisting down all day so looking like a NoGo. May not be the best idea to run with no windscreen wipers and never driven Puke. Been told its Fast and not very forgiving. Besides car leaks like a sieve, no passenger window or demist fan yet.
  20. Primer on the mini tubs Gooping on the seam sealer. Sorted out my belts so they don't hang off the cage and angles are to motorsport regs. Now ready to get cage out. Also bought new double bracket extinguisher. After seeing that a 1kg extinguishers last a whole 10sec I figure the $20 and 3kg penalty for a 2.3kg one is cheap insurance. I like my car uncrispy... After a bit of head scratcching I got my door glass in. Should help stop errant limbs escaping in a oops. Heard a few horror stories of what actually happens when watching slowmo video of oopies... Project list getting a little shorter... Need to stop added bits on the end.
  21. Nice work on bagging a 2dr. Where are you based?
  22. After a year swearing at how poor my phone camera is I noticed it was set to macro. Might take slightly better pics now. (Still think my excitement story was better though.) Hope the install goes well tomorrow.
  23. Chin spoiler pics re a bit blurry mate, you shaking with excitement...?
  24. Cheers mate. I've pickup up some parts and nearly got enough to finish the compliance details on the car.
